Hello friends! This has been a really fun week for me. I took part in a Business Training Expo on Wednesday. It was an all day event through Facebook live put on by Allison Okamitsu. Allison is a very well known Canadian demonstrator. She had presentations for us from Robyn Cardon, Kylie Bertucci, Julie Kettlewell as well as herself. The presentations were very informative. Of course, we can't have any kind of a Stampin' Up! training event or meeting without making some cards. Allison sent us all the supplies to make a total of 4 cards and 2 gift card holders. We used the Cherish the Season bundle to make everything. All of these projects are completely Allison's designs.
Here is a picture of the gift card holders. If you pull the ribbon the gift card comes out of the pocket on the back. One neat thing we did on this project that I hadn't tried before is we coloured our Linen Thread using a Stampin' Blend. I have coloured ribbon and baker's twine many times before but I had never tried to colour our Linen Thread.
Here is a picture of our second project. This is a lovely card! I think I would prefer if I had stamped the pine boughs closer to the upper and lower edge so that more of it would show. When we were making these cards it went by very quickly. I am pleased with the cards as they are though.
Here is a picture of our third project. I think it is so clever that it is a card with a gift on it. This is such a simple but sweet card.
We were also given some challenges during the day. There were three different challenges. The first was a cozy winter picture, the second was a sketch challenge and the third was a challenge to use any green or blue on a card. Here are the cards I came up with. I hope you like them.
As you are reading this blog post, I will be attending Stampin' Up!'s On Stage at Home. Normally we would be at a convention at a super fun place (last year this time we were in Las Vegas) but since we can't travel anywhere we will be doing things at home. I'm really looking forward to seeing what is new in the Stampin' Up! world. We will also get to see the new January to June mini catalogue and have the opportunity to order some items from it this weekend. Of course we will be making some cards so I will share those when I am able.
What we used to make Allison's projects:
Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper
Mossy Meadow Diagonal Stripe Ribbon
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you have enjoyed today's cards. I hope they give you inspiration to create some amazing Christmas cards.
Stay healthy and keep creating!
Terry
