Detailed Dove

Hello my friends! I have designed this card as one of my Christmas card class cards. Because we are not able to get together in person to stamp, I have been trying to use more word dies and less stamping on my class cards. One of my favourite combinations for a Christmas card is Whisper White and silver which is how this card came to be.

I started with a Whisper White Thick card base. On top of this, I added a piece of Silver foil. Before I added my Silver foil though, I cut out parts of the dove that I would need - her tail, wing and the branch she holds in her beak. On top of this piece, I added a piece of Whisper White cardstock that I embossed using the Dainty Diamonds 3D Embossing folder.

I cut out the dove and the detailed wing from the Detailed Dove die set using Whisper White cardstock. I attached the silver foil pieces to the tail and wing. I attached the dove to the card front using dimensionals and added the wing using dimensionals and a little bit of Tombo multipurpose glue where the wing attached to the body of the dove. I added the little branch using Tombo so that it looked like the dove is holding it in her beak. To complete the dove, I added a rhinestone for her eye.

The word "peace" which is the only sentiment on this card was cut from the Joy Dies set. I only used the two smaller layers of this sentiment. There are three different words in this set (Joy, Peace and Bright) and each word has three different sizes that layer together beautifully. I cut the thinnest layer out of Silver foil that I added adhesive sheet to so it would be easier to stick down. I cut the medium size layer out of Whisper White cardstock. I layered the silver layer onto the Whisper White layer and then added the completed word to the card front using dimensionals.

So a funny story about this card. When I was cutting and prepping for my card kits, Bailey the cat came down to "help" me. I had a small pile of the words peace that I had cut out of the silver foil with the adhesive sheet attached to it. Of course that is the exact spot she decided to sit down on. When she got up, she had a few words stuck to her bottom. She has medium long hair so lots of things stick to her fur. She was very upset with me that I was trying to remove the words from her behind. She is such a diva!

What I used for today's card:

Whisper White Thick Cardstock

Silver Foil Sheets

Whisper White Cardstock

Stay healthy and keep creating!

Terry
