Hello my friends! I am really enjoying this Spring weather. The sunshine just makes me so happy. That is what inspired today's card. The other day I went for a walk along the lake with a friend and on the way back to her house we enjoyed seeing the new plants poking through in people's gardens. The colours I used remind me of Spring and this stamp set is the definition of Spring.
I stamped many of the individual blossoms using Basic Gray ink on Basic White cardstock. I coloured the flowers using Petal Pink Stampin' Blends. I then cut out each flower using the die from the bundle.
I also stamped the double leaf image, again using Basic Gray ink on Basic White cardstock. I used my Old Olive Stampin' Blends to colour the leaves and then I cut them out using the corresponding die.
I cut out the branch image using the die from the bundle and Soft Suede cardstock. I then adhered the branch onto a piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock using my Tombo multipurpose glue. I cut out three branches and placed them over the entire piece of cardstock. I then added the flowers on to the branches using my Tombo glue. Once I was pleased with the flowers, I added the leaves. I cut some of the apart and used a single leaf in places. There is a single leaf stamp and die in this bundle but I already had these double leaves stamped, coloured and cut out so it was just easier to use them.
I layered the Soft Sea Foam piece onto a piece of Petal Pink cardstock and then layered this all onto a Basic White Thick card base.
To finish off the flowers, I added some Basic Jewel Pearls. I coloured the pearls with a So Saffron Stampin' Blend so they would look more like a flower center.
I stamped my sentiment from the Timeless Tulips stamp set using Basic Gray ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock. I used the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch to cut it out. The punch cuts out a larger image than what I wanted so I simply placed my piece back in to the punch and lined it up where I wanted it to be and then punched it at a smaller size. I added this to my card front using dimensionals.
Of course I had to add ribbon to my card. We do have some Petal Pink ribbon but it is quite a big wider than what I wanted. So to get over this hurdle, I used the White Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon and coloured it using my Petal Pink Stampin' Blends. I tied this ribbon into a bow and added it to my sentiment piece using a glue dot.
This card was made for my Auntie. I'm not sure if she follows my blog but hopefully if she sees this she will be pleased with the card when it arrives for Mother's Day.
What I used for today's card:
Basic Gray Classic Stampin' Pad
Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch
Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon
