Hello my friends! I hope you are all doing well. As I stated in a previous post, I am a little blue. A friend and fellow demonstrator has been diagnosed with a terminal illness and she is not doing well. Her sister has come out to be her caregiver for as long as she is needed. Today's card was made for my friend's sister.
I wanted to use the new Pansy Patch Stamp set because to me pansies are a sign of Spring and Spring is happiness. I wanted to bring some happiness to her day.
I started by stamping the pansies on some Basic White cardstock. The pansies are a multi step stamp. I started with the larger stamp. I made one using Daffodil Delight ink and the other two used Highland Heather ink. The next layers were stamped all the same for all three pansies. I stamped the second layer using Blackberry Bliss ink. The next layer was stamped using Daffodil Delight ink and the final layer, the very center was stamped using Mango Melody ink. I then used the coordinating die to cut out the pansies.
I used the Layering Circle Dies to cut out three circles from Basic White cardstock. I used Old Olive ink to stamp the stem and leaves towards the bottom of my circles. The leaves are a two step stamp. I used Old Olive to stamp both layers. I matted these circles onto an Old Olive scalloped circle cut using the Layering Circles Dies set. I then attached the flower portion of the pansy onto the stem using Tombo multipurpose glue.
Since my circles were so big, I decided to make a slimline card so I could fit all three of them on the card. I started with a Highland Heather card base that measured 9 by 8 inches. I scored it at 4 inches so my card front measured 9 by 4 inches.
On top of my card base, I added a piece of Basic White cardstock. I stamped my sentiment on the bottom right corner of this piece using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. The sentiment is from the also brand new stamp set, Beauty of Friendship.
I added a strip of DSP from the Pansy Petals DSP package. I used the yellow piece with tiny yellow pansies on it.
I added my circles with the pansies on them on top of the DSP strip using dimensionals.
What I used for today's card:
Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper
Highland Heather Classic Stampin' Pad
Old Olive Classic Stampin' Pad
Daffodil Delight Classic Stampin' Pad
Blackberry Bliss Classic Stampin' Pad
Mango Melody Classic Stampin' Pad
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card. I am so thankful that my friend's sister is here looking after her. I wanted to make her a card to let her know how appreciated she is. Do you know someone that could use a card of appreciation? Pop one in the mail for them. A card will always brighten someone's day.
Stay well and keep creating!
Terry
