Hand Penned

Hello my friends! It really feels like summer has arrived here in Kelowna. This week has been really hot although it's cooled down now. I am loving it! On the weekend I went to the pond and the boardwalk again. The baby ospreys have hatched! It is so exciting! I didn't get a picture of them because they are still pretty tiny. You can only just see the tops of their little heads peeking above the nest. I will share an adorable picture of turtles though. They are just so cute! One lady that we were talking to told us that the reason turtles bask in the sun is to get rid of parasites on their shells. I looked on Google and they say it is for metabolism, mood regulation, breeding and for Vitamin D3 for their bones and other organs. Maybe they are both right......

Today's card was made for one of the gals on my team. She has advanced to Bronze Elite! That is a really exciting step up as she goes from a 20% discount on anything she purchases to a 25% discount. That is pretty significant.

This card was made based on a challenge. I didn't get it done in time to post it to the challenge but I still made it.

I used the Hand Penned Bundle from the new annual catalogue. I stamped the flower image onto a piece of Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I used the coordinating die to cut out the flower image. Then I coloured the image in using my Stampin' Blends. I used Mint Macaron for the leaves and stems and Pale Papaya for the flowers. My intention was to match it with the piece of DSP that I used from the Hand Penned DSP package. After my flower image was coloured, I attached it to a piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock that I cut using the Layering Circles Dies.

I added my piece of Hand Penned DSP to a piece of Basic White cardstock. I added a piece of Pale Papaya and White ribbon across the cardstock at the top of the DSP. I then stamped my sentiment using Misty Moonlight ink. The sentiment is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set. I matted this piece with a piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock and then attached it to a Basic White Thick card base.

I attached my circle with the flower on it to the card front using dimensionals. I then added a little bling by adding some Genial Gems in the Pale Papaya colour. These are sparkly gems that come in both Mint Macaron and Pale Papaya.

What I used for today's card:

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed the card (and the turtles!). I am pretty sure my downline will be happy with her card. She just loves receiving cards. Well, I'm sure most people would love to receive a card. Have you sent any cards lately?

Stay well and keep creating!
