Hello my friends! Welcome to Fall. I feel like people either love this time of year or they don't. While I don't absolutely love Fall, I do appreciate some of the things the new season brings. Things like cozy days of baking and crafting are a plus. However, with Fall comes Winter and that is definitely not my favourite.
Today's card uses the Nature's Harvest Bundle which to me is a total Fall themed bundle. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do other than I wanted to use the DSP. When I am stumped with what to do, I like to do a challenge. This challenge was a sketch challenge that I found on Pinterest.
I started with a Basic White Thick card base. On top of that, I added a piece of Sahara Sand cardstock and on top of that, my piece of DSP. The DSP is from the Peaceful Prints package which is a free Sale-a-bration item when you spend $60. This piece of DSP is a perfect example of using a mainly Christmas themed paper in a non-Christmas situation.
I used the Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut out rectangle from a piece of Sahara Sand cardstock and added it to my card front using dimensionals.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I used my Blending Brush to add some Sahara Sand ink. I added it darker in the center of the rectangle and lighter towards the edges, leaving the very edges white. I added a piece of Adhesive Sheets to a piece of Gray Granite cardstock. I then used a die from the Harvest Dies set to cut out the tree image. I like to use the adhesive sheets when I cut out fine or intricate images. It makes it so much easier to adhere the image. I attached my tree to the center of the Sahara Sand ink rectangle. I then wrapped a piece of Linen Thread around this piece 4 times and tied it into a knot. I added this piece to my card front using dimensionals and adhesive.
I stamped my sentiment using Gray Granite ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock. The sentiment is from the Nature's Harvest stamp set. I used one of the label dies in the Harvest Dies set to cut out the sentiment piece. I attached it to my card front using dimensionals. I used a double layer of dimensionals on the right edge and a single layer on the left edge where it attached to the tree piece. That completes my card.
What I used for today's card:
Sahara Sand Classic Stampin' Pad
Gray Granite Classic Stampin' Pad
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card. This is a good example of a challenge card and using a traditional paper in a non-traditional way. Have you tried any challenges lately? They are a great way to overcome being stumped.
Stay well and keep creating!
Terry
