Wonder and Whimsey

Hello friends! I hope you are all keeping well with this crazy weather we are having. Right now, here in Kelowna it is absolutely beautiful. It is 9 degrees and sunny but apparently it is raining again at the coast. I heard on the radio this morning that on this day 5 years ago it was minus 26 degrees. I will take this weather over the freezing cold any day! I hope everyone down at the coast is safe. With all of the road closures it is causing difficulties throughout the whole province. There are huge delays with receiving mail and parcels. My last Stampin' Up! order is delayed with no updates. Thankfully my ladies are so very understanding!

In my last post, I shared that I am involved in a Secret Santa gift exchange with my Business Expo group. The gal whose name I got stated that her favourite colour is Mint Macaron. I designed this card with that in mind but I liked it so much that I decided to make it one of my monthly stamp group cards. If you are in stamp group and don't want a spoiler alert, stop reading right now.

I started with a Mint Macaron card base that is longer than our regular 8.5 by 5.5. It is actually 11 by 5.5 with an accordion folded panel on the front. There is also a smaller card base that is attached to the accordion panels. I used the Wonder and Whimsey DSP on all of the panels and on the inside of the card. This DSP is so pretty! I used a different piece from the package for each panel so I could enjoy all of the beautiful designs.

On the smaller Mint Macaron card base, I added two squares of Basic White cardstock. On the front panel, I attached three of the tiny whimsical trees from the Christmas Trees Dies set. These trees are so cute! I cut the trees out of a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock that had an adhesive sheet attached to it. That made adding the trees to the card so easy. On the second panel, I stamped one of the sentiments from the Whimsical Trees stamp set using Mossy Meadow ink. The smaller card base was then attached to the first and fourth accordion panel using adhesive.

I added another piece of Basic White cardstock to the inside panel of the card. I attached a fourth whimsical tree to this piece as well. This piece is intended to be where you can write on the card and sign your name.

What I used for today's card:

Whimsy & Wonder DSP

Whimsical Trees Stamp

Christmas Trees Dies

Mint Macaron Cardstock

Basic White Cardstock

Mossy Meadow Cardstock

Mossy Meadow Classic Stampin' Pad

Adhesive Sheets

As you know, it was my birthday this month. I have received many amazing, beautiful cards. Due to the road closures some cards have been arriving late. That just means that my birthday celebration gets to be extended longer. I received the most amazing handmade cards on Friday from the loves of my life. They created the cards by themselves but had help with some of the words and the bow. I absolutely love them!

Here is the card from Paisley:

This is the inside. In case you can't read what is written it says " Happy Birthday Nana, Have a good birthday! Lots of Kisses & Hugs! Get lots of presents...Paisley" I love that she printed her own name! They are getting so grown up....

Here is the card from Everett:

And here is the inside of Everett's card:

It is much easier to read what is written in his card. I'm not sure what the picture is of but he did a great job of colouring and printing!

I find it so interesting to see their designs. Paisley is always more is better, hence the many, many googly eyes on the front of her card. Everett is more of the sweet and simple but elegant style.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed the card I designed as well as the cards from my littles.

Stay well and keep creating!

Terry
