Awesome Otters

Hello friends! Well it appears that winter has returned to Kelowna. It was so lovely last week and yesterday morning I had to shovel the driveway again! There wasn't a lot of snow but it was at just the right temperature that it probably wouldn't have melted completely and with the cold temperatures predicted I didn't want the driveway to turn into a skating rink. It is below zero again so that definitely would have happened. I did get in a lovely walk along the boardwalk on Friday though before winter returned. My friend and I were even lucky enough to come upon a blue heron just 10 feet in front of us. He was just standing there and then slowly moved along and flew away. Such a beautiful sight!!

So on to today's card. I used the Awesome Otters stamp set that is only available as a free Sale-a-bration item until the end of February. For every $60 you spend during Sale-a-bration you get to choose a free item from the special Sale-a-bration catalogue. This is such a cute stamp set! This card is one of the make and takes that I created for our Crafting at the Lake Event that was on January 30th. I will be sharing all of the cards that both Susanne and I designed for the event in the upcoming weeks.

I started with a card base of Basic White Thick cardstock. On top of that I added a layer of Pool Party cardstock. I added a strip of DSP from the Sunshine and Rainbows DSP pack. This DSP is also a free Sale-a-bration item that is only available until the end of February. I matted the strip of DSP with a strip of Basic White cardstock and added this to the Pool Party cardstock.

I used another piece of Basic White cardstock to cut out three circles using the Layering Circles dies. I stamped each of the three otters onto the circles using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I used Stampin' Blends to colour in the otters. The colours I used are Soft Suede, Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake, Pool Party and Daffodil Delight. I added the otters to my card front using dimensionals. On a scrap of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the party hat using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and coloured it in using my Stampin' Blends. I fussy cut out the hat and attached it to the otter in the center circle.

I used the same ink to stamp my sentiment from the stamp set on a strip of Basic White cardstock. I cut a banner cut into the right edge of my sentiment piece. I then added the sentiment to the far right side of my card using dimensionals.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card. I think these little otters are really cute.

Stay well and keep creating!

Terry
