Hello friends! Today I am taking part in another Stamping Inkspirations blog hop. Today's post is a colour challenge and you know how I love a good challenge! There are 27 of us hopping this month so grab a big mug of tea and check out all of the inspiration.
Here is the colour challenge that we were to work with. The colours are Blushing Bride, Polished Pink, Fresh Freesia, Bumblebee and Garden Green.
We were asked to use at least three of the colours but as you know, I'm a keener so I used all 5 colours on my card! I decided to make this card for my friend's mother who will be turning 106 tomorrow! Yes, that is right, 106! She is an amazing lady and you would never guess her age if you saw her. She is my inspiration. Here is my card:
I started with a card base of Fresh Freesia. On top of that I added a layer of Basic White cardstock that I cut out using the Stitched Rectangles dies. I added another Stitched Rectangle that I cut out from some Bumblebee cardstock. I added this rectangle at an angle to give my card some interest.
I created the vase for the flowers by taking a small piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and crumpling it up. I spritzed it with some water and crumpled it up some more. I folded it into this vase shape and let it dry. Once it was dried, I used some Tombo Multipurpose adhesive to glue it together in the vase shape. I wrapped the Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon around the vase and tied it into a bow. I then used the Tombo glue to adhere the vase to the Bumblebee Stitched Rectangle.
I created my flower bouquet by cutting out some flowers and greenery using dies from Honeybee Blooms Dies and Meadow Dies. I used Blushing Bride, Polished Pink and Fresh Freesia cardstock to cut out the flowers and Garden Green to cut out some greenery. I built the bouquet by adding a little bit of Tombo glue to the stems and stuck them into the vase.
I stamped my sentiment from the Blossoms in Bloom stamp set using Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a scrap of Basic White cardstock. I trimmed around the words and attached them to the Bumblebee cardstock using dimensionals.
What I used for today's card:
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card. Happy Birthday Jo, I hope you have an amazing day!
