Forever Blossoms

Hello friends! Well thankfully we had a beautiful day on Sunday because the weather changed again by Monday. I suppose we needed the rain though. It was nice again on Wednesday and I met a friend for a walk along the boardwalk. I haven't been walking much lately because of my toe so it was great to get out and walk. I'll share a couple pictures at the end of this post.

Today's card features another of my favourite stamp sets that is retiring. This time I used the Forever Blossoms stamp set. I love this set for wedding cards especially. Today I made a Hello card using the Forever Blossoms stamp set but I used a really fun technique that I haven't done in ages - the Whitewash Technique.

On a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, I stamped the larger flower image using Versamark ink. I added some White Embossing Powder from the Basics set and heated it to melt using my heat tool. I then used my Water Painter and some White Craft Ink and painted all of the flowers, stems and leaves. Here is a picture of everything all painted white.

After it was completely dried, I added colour to the image using the Water Painter again. I added Blushing Bride to the flowers and Pear Pizzazz to the stems and leaves. The final colour is very subdued and there is still alot of white showing through. I love this look though. I matted the Crumb Cake piece onto a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock and then matted that onto a piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock.

I used a Crumb Cake card base. On top of this, I added a piece of Basic White cardstock that I embossed using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. This is my absolute favourite embossing folder of all times and I am very sad to see it is retiring. I had to use it one more time on today's card though.

I coloured some White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon using my Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends and wrapped this around the embossed Basic White cardstock before I added it to my Crumb Cake card base. I would have used a Blushing Bride Stampin' Blend to colour my ribbon but it doesn't exist so I used Flirty Flamingo. I think it is a pretty good match.

I added my stamped white washed image to my card front using dimensionals. I stamped my sentiment from the Hello Ladybug stamp set using Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a small strip of Basic White cardstock. I cut a banner cut into one edge of my sentiment piece and then added it to my card using dimensionals.

So when we were on our walk, I was so excited to see that the ospreys had returned! Mama was sitting on the platform with the beginning of a nest and Papa was over in a tree having some lunch. It was great to see them. I am going to have to keep going down to check on them now that I know they are back.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card and the osprey update. I am sad to see this stamp set leaving us but there will be something just as fabulous to take it's place in the new catalogue.

Stay well and keep creating!
