Hello friends! It is time for another Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop. This month we have a sketch challenge. As you all know, I love a good sketch challenge. There are 21 participating this month so I'm sure you will get a lot of inspiration from all of the beautiful cards you are about to see.
Here is a picture of the sketch we are working with:
I had to use the new In Colours to create my card because they are so pretty. My starting off point (after knowing the sketch design) was the beautiful DSP. I used the Hues of Happiness DSP and it is gorgeous!
I started with a card base of Orchid Oasis which is one of the new In Colours. I used a piece of Basic White cardstock that I embossed using the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. I wanted to use a different embossing folder because it looks like this is the one used in the sketch but I didn't have anything else that went with my design. I matted my embossed piece on to a piece of Basic Black cardstock and wrapped a piece of the new Orchid Oasis Metallic Ribbon around it and tied it into a knot. I added this directly to my card base using Tombo multipurpose glue.
I cut a piece of DSP from the Hues of Happiness DSP pack and matted it on to a piece of Basic Black cardstock. I then matted that on to a piece of Orchid Oasis cardstock. I added this to my card front using dimensionals. The recommended coordinating colours for this DSP do not include Orchid Oasis but I think it matches perfectly. I love that Stampin' Up! gives us the matching colours but it is also good to try something else.
I used a sentiment from the Happiness Abounds stamp set. I stamped it on a strip of Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I cut both ends at an angle just for interest. I added my sentiment to the DSP using dimensionals.
To complete my card, I added some 2022 - 2024 In Colour Matte Decorative Dots.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed my card. Click on the "next blog" button and head to Gez's blog to see what she did with this sketch.
Stay well and keep creating!
