Sun Prints

Hello friends! I hope you all had a fabulous long weekend! Sunday was a spectacular day - exactly what we have come to expect here in Kelowna. I hope this is a sign that Spring might actually be here for real. I had some fun in my craft room on Saturday.

I was prepping for my monthly stamp group using the beautiful Sun Prints DSP and had these leftover pieces. They were too pretty to throw out so I challenged myself to come up with a card using these scraps. This is what I came up with....

I started by laying out the scraps of DSP on a piece of Basic White cardstock. I decided that they needed to have some alternating pieces of Night of Navy cardstock. The cardstock looked too plain on it's own so I embossed it using the Fern 3D Embossing folder. That was just what it needed. It's kind of hard to see in the picture but it really does make a difference. Once I had the pieces of DSP and cardstock all stuck down, I used a Stitched Rectangle Die to cut out the size I wanted. I matted this on another piece of Basic White cardstock. I attached this to a card base of Pacific Point.

I stamped my sentiment on a piece of Basic White cardstock using Night of Navy ink. The sentiment is from the Biggest Wish set. It is a fun set that I need to use more! I fussy cut around the letters and added my sentiment to the card front using dimensionals. To complete the card, I added some Elegant Faceted Gems.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed today's card. I am thrilled with how it turned out. I wasn't sure what was going to come out of these little scraps but I knew they were too pretty to just toss. Are you the kind of person that saves every scrap of DSP (like me) or are you brave enough to throw them out? Usually I save them until the paper retires and then I am forced to throw them out. Maybe I should challenge myself more often to use them up before they retire.

Stay well and keep creating!

Terry
