Splendid Thoughts

Hello friends! I hope you are all doing well. It has been a long week for me as my daughter and her husband are out of town celebrating their anniversary. They even took the baby with them! I was going to spend the day with her before they left but she was coming down with a cold and my daughter didn't want me to possibly get sick. She is so sweet to always be thinking about my health. I really appreciate it but I missed my day with her. I love our time together and can't wait for them to get home.

So today's card is an anniversary card for my daughter and son-in-law. I really wanted to use the Splendid Day DSP but I had to keep the colours toned down a little for Russell's sake. I decided to go with the Soft Sea Foam foil piece plus it has that adorable little lady bug on it!

Here is a close up of the lady bug:

I started with a Basic White Thick card base. On top of that, I added my beautiful piece of DSP. I wanted to make sure the lady bug would be visible once the card was completed.

On another piece of Basic White cardstock I stamped one of the leaf images using Soft Sea Foam ink that I stamped off once. On top of that, I stamped my sentiment using Basic Gray ink. The sentiment is from the Charming Sentiments stamp set. I realized that this is the only stamp I have that says "Happy Anniversary". I cut out my sentiment piece using a die from the Scalloped Contours Dies set.

I added a piece of Soft Sea Foam Seam Binding ribbon to the back of my sentiment piece. I folded the ribbon in half and attached it so it was at an angle to the sentiment piece.

I also cut out some leaf images using the dies from the Splendid Thoughts Bundle and attached them in the opposite corners to where the ribbon is. I cut out the leaf images using Soft Sea Foam cardstock, Basic White cardstock and Vellum. I then attached my sentiment piece to the card front using dimensionals.

That completes my card. Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card and I hope my kids will enjoy it too. They have been together for 12 years but married for two. I hope they are having a fabulous time away on the coast. Here is a picture from two years ago. I love how happy they both are.

Stay well and keep creating!
