Hello friends! I am participating in another blog hop created by my friend Angie from Stamping Inkspirations. The challenge for this month is to do a Fun Fold. I'm really excited to see what everyone else has created. There are 16 of us hopping this month so check out everyone's post for some amazing inspiration.
I made this card which is called a "Tricky Card". A couple of months ago a friend of mine invited myself and another friend over to her house to show us how to make this card. (Thanks Sylvia!) The original instructions were in metric so I re-created it in inches.
I used Pool Party cardstock for the card bases for this card. I had to use a 12 X 12 piece so I used the Pool Party cardstock from the Subtles 12 X 12 Cardstock Collection.
On the side panels, I added some DSP from the Hues of Happiness DSP pack. I also added a piece of Basic White cardstock. I stamped the small flower stamp on both pieces of cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I then coloured it using Stampin' Blends. I used Pool Party, Granny Apple Green and So Saffron Stampin' Blends. I also stamped the sentiment on the left panel and left the right panel open so I could write on it. I used Pool Party Sheer Ribbon for the pulls on the side panels. I attached the side panels to the main card base using a couple of brads from the Round and Square Brads.
Here is a picture of the side panels partially opened:
And here is a picture of the side panels opened up all the way:
On the card front I added another piece of DSP from the Hues of Happiness DSP pack that I matted with a piece of Basic White cardstock. I cut a piece of Vellum using the Layering Circles Dies and added that to the left side of the DSP. On another piece of Basic White cardstock I stamped the flowers and leaves from the Happiness Abounds Stamp set using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I used Pool Party and Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends to colour them in. I then cut them out using the corresponding dies from the bundle. I added these to a piece of Vellum that I cut using the Layering Circles Dies. After I had them on the card, I decided to colour them all using the Wink of Stella Glitter Pen. The friend that I made this card for loves Wink of Stella and uses it all of the time when she is crafting.
On a separate piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped my sentiment using Tuxedo Black Memento ink again. I fussy cut around the words and attached it to the card front using dimensionals. That completes my card.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed this card. Click on the "next blog" button to see what Tricia has created.
