Hello friends! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! It was absolutely gorgeous here. We had our big Crafting at the Lakehouse event on Sunday and it was a big success. I will share some pictures at the end of this post.
Today's card is one of the cards I designed as a Take and Make. That is a card that the attendees take home and create there. They will have received the stamp bundle in their swag bag so they will be able to make it. They receive the card parts and instructions in their bag as well.
I started by using a piece of the specialty Snowflake Vellum and attached it to a piece of Basic White cardstock. I chose a piece of the vellum that had the silver snowflakes on it. I attached it to the white cardstock so that the background was brighter as I was using a darker card base. I attached my vellum/cardstock to a Night of Navy card base.
On another piece of Night of Navy cardstock, I stamped my sentiment using Versamark ink. Before I stamped I rubbed my embossing buddy over the cardstock to reduce static. I am so happy that Stampin' Up! has brought back the embossing buddy. After stamping my sentiment, I added some silver embossing powder from the Metallics Embossing Powder set. I then used my heat tool to melt the powder.
I used the Very Best Trio Punch (which is part of the bundle) to punch the four corners of my sentiment piece. The one trick with using this punch is that if you want the two corners to match, you need to flip your cardstock before doing the second punch.
I matted my sentiment piece on a piece of Basic White cardstock. I punched the four corners of this piece to match the sentiment piece.
I added a strip of Metallic Mesh ribbon across the front of my card using adhesive. I added my sentiment piece over top of the ribbon using dimensionals.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card. It is actually much shinier in real life than it is in the picture.
Stay well and keep creating!
Terry
