Hello friends! I hope you all had a great weekend. It was like summer here in Kelowna. I could take this weather until December. I know it's not going to last but I'll enjoy it while it's here.
I participated in another Mystery Card meeting with my friend Susanne's team this weekend. We were told to cut our cardstock and DSP at the specified dimensions and to have extras (ribbon, embellishments) to add to the card. We were told to choose a neutral card base so I chose Basic White Thick.
I chose to use the Texture Chic DSP to add to my card. I wanted to use this beautiful piece with the petal pink flowers and the variety of colours and textures in the background. When we were in the meeting, she threw a monkey wrench into my plans. We were told to trim off 1 & 1/4 inches off of one side of our piece of DSP and flip it over and add it to the card front. I have to admit, I wanted to resist. I really wanted to use the entire piece of what I chose. I did do what we were told to do in the end. I matted my DSP pieces on a piece of Evening Evergreen cardstock. I wrapped a piece of Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon across the line where the two pieces of DSP meet. I added this to a card base of Basic White Thick.
On a small piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the small dots image from the Season of Chic Bundle using Petal Pink ink. I also stamped the larger blotch image using Soft Succulent ink that I stamped off twice. Over top of these stamped images, I stamped my sentiment using Evening Evergreen ink. The sentiment is from the Very Best Occasions Stamp set. I then punched it out using the smaller oval of the Double Oval Punch. I punched the larger oval out of a piece of Evening Evergreen cardstock and matted my sentiment to this. I added my sentiment to the card front using dimensionals.
I used the small leaf die to cut out two leaves from some Soft Succulent cardstock. I cut two flowers from Petal Pink cardstock and two from Basic White cardstock. I added these under my sentiment oval. To finish off my card, I added some Evening Evergreen rhinestones from the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels pack.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card. I'm not sure who will be getting this one but I know I have a few birthdays coming up this month.
Stay well and keep creating!
Terry
