Hello friends! Well it's only a couple more weeks until Christmas. Are you ready for the big day? I still have a few cards to finish up and get into the mail but other than that, I am pretty much ready.
Today's card is a thank you card that I made for a special person. She has been very helpful to me while I have been doing classes at SLR. This is Seniors Learning in Retirement. I have been volunteering here teaching a beginner's class for years. I had to take a couple years off because of Covid but just finished a program last week. I had a great group of ladies eager to learn cardmaking this session. The gal that I made the card for works in the office at SLR and she is absolutely amazing. She runs the office and organizes the classes so smoothly. She is definitely a huge asset to this program.
I wanted to use the Framed Florets Bundle and do something that didn't use Christmas colours.
I started with a card base of Basic White thick cardstock. On top of that I added a piece of Pale Papaya cardstock that I cut using the heart oval frame. This die cuts an oval shape made up of tiny little hearts. It is so adorable.
I stamped my sentiment onto a piece of Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I cut this out using the crimped edge oval die. I also cut this crimped oval from a piece of Basic Black cardstock. The die cuts the inner oval and also cuts out the crimped oval frame at the same time. I added the black crimped oval frame to the center of the hearts oval using dimensionals. I then added my sentiment oval inside the black frame using dimensionals.
On another piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the small flowers from the stamp set using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I stamped two of the smaller flower and one of the larger flower. I cut these out using the corresponding dies and then coloured the flowers using Pale Papaya Stampin' Blends. I added the larger flower and one of the smaller flowers to the top of my sentiment oval. I added the second small flower to the bottom right of the oval. I added an Adhesive Backed Gold Swirl jewel to the center of each flower.
To complete my card, I added a bow that I tied using the Black and White Gingham Ribbon. I added the bow to the bottom of my sentiment oval using glue dots.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card.
Stay well and keep creating!
Terry
