Hello friends!
Today's card was made for a coworker of hubby's. She doesn't actually work in their office but she works with them in an office in Victoria. I don't understand exactly what her job is but she is retiring. I suggested that he send her a card to congratulate her which of course led to me making said card. It's hard to create a card for someone you have never met, know nothing about and don't really know what their job is. Since she lives in Victoria, I went with spring colours and flowers. I figured I couldn't go wrong with that.
I started with a Basic White Thick card base. On top of that, I added a layer of Soft Sea Foam cardstock and then a layer of Petal Pink cardstock. I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to be the size to go on the Petal Pink cardstock but I cut the lower part of it off using the curved leaf edge die. I stamped my sentiment in the top left corner using Basic Gray ink. The sentiment is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the triple flower image from the Petal Park Bundle. I stamped the outline image using Flirty Flamingo, Petal Pink and Pool Party ink. I then stamped the fill in part of the flowers using the same inks stamped off once. I then punched out the flowers using the coordinating punch.
I used the various leaf dies from the Around the Bend Dies set to cut out the leaf images using Soft Sea Foam cardstock. I added these leaves to the Basic White cardstock piece and then added the flowers using dimensionals. I added this to the card front using adhesive.
To complete my card, I added Basic Pearls to the flower centers.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope the coworker enjoys it. I'm sure she will be surprised that the guys in hubby's office sent her a card.
As an update to this, she was thrilled with the card! She was surprised for sure that the guys sent her a card. She loved the fact that it was homemade too. Goes to show, you just never know who you are going to touch with a card.
Stay well and keep creating!
Terry
