Hello friends! I hope you all had a great weekend. I actually have no idea what the weather was like as I caught a stomach bug from my little cutie. I spent the weekend going from bed to bathroom. All is good now though thankfully.
Today's card is number 8 in the Crafting at the Lake series. This card uses the Best Day stamp set and was another of my designs. As you all know, I'm a crazy cat lady so of course I had to have this set.
I started by stamping the cupcake cat image onto a piece of shimmery white cardstock using Black Staz On ink. I coloured the image using Watercolor Pencils and then blended it using a Blender Pen. I used Pumpkin Pie for the cat; Bermuda Bay and Old Olive for the party hat; Bermuda Bay for the tie; Flirty Flamingo for his nose; Garden Green for his eyes; Melon Mambo for the balloon; and Old Olive and Garden Green for the cupcake wrapper.
I cut a circle in a piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock using the Layering Circles Dies. I then used the Cane Weave 3D Embossing Folder to emboss the cardstock. It's important to die cut first before embossing because if you did it in the reverse order you could flatten the embossing when you die cut. I attached the embossed cardstock to the stamped image so the cat image would be in the center of the circle window. I then matted this with a piece of Basic White cardstock. I wrapped a piece of Pool Party ribbon across the front of this cardstock and then used another piece of the ribbon to tie a faux knot. I attached this cardstock to a Pool Party card base using dimensionals.
On a small piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped my sentiment using Black Staz On ink. I used the stitched banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set to cut it out. I attached this to my card front using dimensionals.
To complete my card, I added some Iridescent Pastel Gems and coloured the balloon with Wink of Stella to add some sparkle.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card. I think this one will be perfect for my older granddaughter. She loves cats too and finally talked her parents into letting her get a cat. He is orange and his name is Mango.
Stay well and keep creating!
