Dainty Delights Sympathy Card

Hello friends! Well Mother Nature played a great April Fools gag on us. When I woke up it was raining which is fine. Then it started to hail and then SNOW!! There was enough to cover the yard and driveway. I figured it would warm up and melt so I refused to go out  and shovel the driveway. It actually did completely melt by noon but I was seriously not happy to see that.

Unfortunately I needed to make another sympathy card. There has been too many of these in the last little while. This card was made for a friend who was a member of our calligraphy guild who lost her husband recently.

I chose to use the Dainty Delights Bundle again. It is such a gorgeous and versatile bundle. I stamped some of the flower images on to some Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I used the corresponding dies to cut these out and then coloured them using Stampin' Blends. I used Highland Heather, Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight colours on the images. I also used one of the flower dies to cut out two images from some Sahara Sand cardstock. I attached all of these flower images to a piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock that I cut out using the Stitched Rectangle Dies. I wrapped some Linen Thread around this a few times.

I used a card base of Basic White Thick cardstock. On top of that I added a piece of Highland Heather cardstock. I wanted to make the purple colour be not so bold so I added a piece of Vellum the same size as the piece of Highland Heather cardstock. I embossed the Vellum using one of the new Basics 3D Embossing Folders. These come in a pack of three different embossing folders and are all really fun.

I added my Soft Sea Foam piece to the card front using dimensionals. I stamped my sentiment on a piece of Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I then cut it out using another Stitched Rectangle Die. I added the sentiment to the card front using dimensionals. This sentiment is from the Bamboo Beauty Stamp set. I figured it was a perfect sentiment for this card.

To complete my card, I added a bow that I tied using a double layer of Linen Thread. I attached it to the flowers piece using Glue Dots.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card and I hope my friend knows that I am thinking of her during this challenging time.

Stay well and keep creating!

Terry
