Good Morning Magnolia

Well I hope all of you Moms had a Happy Mother's Day. I got totally spoiled by my daughter. She had both of us over for a delicious brunch which consisted of French toast with fresh berries and whip cream, fresh fruit, veggie pizza, pasta salad and scones. Then we went for a walk in the woods above their house. There is a cute little pond that had lots of ducks and birds enjoying the sunny day. When we got back to the house after our walk, the boys left us and did their own thing and we did a craft that Chelsey had planned for us. She bought all of the components for us to create a succulent planter. So thoughtful and it is so cute. We kept our distance from each other during our visit but it was so nice to spend the day with my girl. I have really missed her.

Today's card was created especially for Dr. Bonnie Henry. In case you are not from BC, she is the Provincial Health Officer for BC and has done an incredible job of keeping us all safe and calm during this Covid 19 pandemic. There was a posting on Facebook asking us card makers to send a thank you card to her in appreciation of the great work that she has done. I was all for that. When I see the leadership in other areas, I am so thankful for her hard work and dedication that sending a card seemed like the least I could do.

I immediately thought of the Magnolia Lane suite and the Good Morning Magnolia stamp. I love this suite so I am really glad that it will be carrying over into the new catalog. Well, the stamp and dies will carry over. Sadly, the designer series paper will not be carrying over. I stamped the large magnolia image onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock using Tuxedo Memento Black ink. Then I cut it out using the corresponding die from the bundle and colored it in using my Stampin' Blends. I used Mossy Meadow, Petal Pink and Daffodil Delight. I used a Thick Whisper White card base with the Petal Pink striped designer series paper which I added to a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock. I wrapped a piece of Mossy Meadow Linen thread around  this part of the card twice and tied it into a bow. This linen thread is from the Magnolia Lane ribbon combo pack. I added this to my card base using dimensionals. I stamped the "thank you" sentiment onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock using Tuxedo Memento Black ink and cut it out using a stitched oval from the Stitched Shapes Dies set. The "thank you" is from the Beautifully Braided stamp set. If you are interested in the Magnolia Lane designer series paper or the ribbon combo, it is on sale right now since it is retiring. Check the link to my online store for prices and availability.

I hope Dr. Henry likes this card. I don't think it will be a problem posting this card on my bog before mailing it to her as there is not much chance of her seeing it here on my blog.
