Dove of Hope

Hello my friends! I have made another Christmas card for today's post. It's kind of funny how this card came about. I chose the colours because I wanted to use the Pretty Peacock/Crumb Cake ribbon. You will notice that there is none of that ribbon on this card. Once I got the card completed I decided that it would be too much with that ribbon so I didn't use it after all. I do like this colour combination though. It is not your typical Christmas colours but I think it is pretty.

I started by stamping the dove image from the Dove of Hope stamp set using Versmark ink on Crumb Cake cardstock. I added white embossing powder and heated it to melt. I used the whitewash technique to colour in the dove. I smooshed an acrylic block into the Craft white ink pad. I used my water painter to pick up the white ink from the block and colour in the dove. I coloured the entire image in white. I put a couple layers of white on the dove. I added So Saffron to the dove's beak, Crumb Cake to the sprig in her beak and Merry Merlot to the berry on the sprig. Once the dove was completely dry, I cut it out using a stitched oval from the Stitched Shapes Dies set. I stamped the sentiment from the Curvy Christmas set in Versamark ink, added white embossing powder and heated it to melt. I matted this on an oval that I cut from some Gold Foil using the Layering Ovals Dies set.

I used a Crumb Cake card base and on top of this I added a piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock. I stamped the sprig image randomly all over the piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock using Pretty Peacock ink. I wrapped a piece of linen thread around this piece of cardstock three times and then tied it into a bow. I attached this to the Crumb Cake card base using Tombo multipurpose glue. I added the dove piece to the center of the card front using dimensionals. To tie everything together, I added some gold metallic pearls dotted randomly on the card.

What I used for today's card:

Dove of Hope Stamp

Curvy Christmas Stamp

Crumb Cake Cardstock

Pretty Peacock Cardstock

Gold Foil Sheets

Versamark Pad

White Craft Stampin' Pad

So Saffron Classic Stampin' Pad

Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' Pad

Merry Merlot Classic Stampin' Pad

Layering Ovals Dies

Stitched Shapes Dies

Linen Thread

Metallic Pearls

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed today's card. I realized that while I have been busy designing cards for my class card kits, I have not been doing much stamping. As per the rules at Stampin' Up!, we are not allowed to pre-stamp any images in card kits. It makes designing a little tricky but I think it's working so far. I do look forward to when we are able to get together in person again though.

Stay well and keep creating!

Birthday Cards

Hello my friends! Today's post will be all about birthday cards. My birthday cards to be specific. I received so many gorgeous homemade cards from friends this year that I just have to share them with all of you. Nothing makes a card maker happier than receiving a beautiful homemade card! I am just guessing at the techniques that were used on the cards so if I get something wrong, forgive me.

This first card is from my friend Susanne. I love all of the layers of flowers. Some are attached with dimensionals and some are attached directly making a fun variety. There are some beautiful sparkly sequins to add some interest to the card as well. The background is fun as well. Su has put splatters of purples and blues so the card is not stark white. It balances the spray of flowers perfectly. I love this colour combination. It's not one I have used before but it is very pretty. I definitely need to make something with this combination.

The second card is from my friend Cathy. I love how she used the embossing folder but used the debossed side rather than the embossed side of the cardstock. The flower is stunning the way she used the varied colouring before die cutting the flower and leaves. I'm guessing she must have either sponged or water coloured the different variations of inks and then cut out the pieces. Lots of piecing together to create this beautiful flower! There is even another gorgeous flower on the inside. Can you believe that I don't have this die set? It's true.

This next card is from my friend Judy A. There are so many levels of gorgeousness on this card! The background is stamped with the music sheet stamp. On top of this the leaf image is stamped repeatedly over the card front and embossed with copper embossing powder. There is a strip of sponged bright blue which is outlined with the embossed copper as well. Then there is a layer of vellum with the sentiment embossed in copper and a copper dragonfly. To add some more fun there is a leaf cut out of the copper foil that also has the copper embossed leaf on top of it.

This next card is from my friend Judy B. Another card with many layers of gorgeousness! There is a light sponged circle of Petal Pink in the center of the card. On top of this is a stamped floral image that was embossed with silver embossing powder. Then Judy coloured in the flowers and leaves. Such an elegant look. The sentiment is also embossed with silver embossing powder. Then there is the beautiful Petal Pink ribbon which I absolutely love. To top it off there are some Petal Pink pearls sprinkled on the card front. As if this was not beautiful enough, the inside sentiment was also embossed in silver and there are two flowers like the large one on the front of the card.

This next card is from my friend Marilyn. This card means a lot to me as Marilyn is so hard on herself with her card making abilities. I love this card! She used the cat stamp because she knows that I am a crazy cat lady. This card is simple but beautiful. There is DSP on the left side and embossed cardstock on the right side. Such a great way to use DSP (which I am totally going to copy). She coloured in the cat and mouse so it shows up beautifully. The cat piece is matted with a die cut piece of red cardstock to match the red card base. To finish it all off there is a bow of bakers twine in the top right corner.

This next card is from my friend Annette. Again there are many layers of beautiful on this card. The background is heat embossed and sponged to make it look like leather. This is layered on a piece of black cardstock and then on a piece of sparkly blue cardstock and then put onto a white card base. The piece with the unicorn is matted in the same way and the sentiment piece is layered the same as well. The unicorn was stamped onto a piece of white cardstock and then a layer of adhesive sheet was added and glitter was added on top of it. It is so pretty with the unicorn and all of the sparkle. The three light blue rhinestones and the sparkly white and silver ribbon bring it all together. My granddaughter will be jealous of this one because she loves unicorns and anything that is sparkly!

This next card is from my friend Sharon. Another card with so many layers of gorgeousness! There is a layer of quilted embossed white cardstock and then on top of that is a strip of DSP that is also embossed using a wood grain embossing folder. On top of all of this are many layers of leaves, sprigs and berries from the Forever Fern set cut out of cardstock and vellum. On top of the leaves and sprigs is a beautiful bow. It took me a few minutes to figure out how she did this but I finally got it. Very clever! The sentiment piece is tucked in to the top right corner and then there are some dark blue rhinestones  to tie everything together.

This next card is from my friend Glenys. This is a Z-fold card. On the front panel the DSP is matted on a piece of black cardstock. The rose was fussy cut from another piece of DSP and attached to some layered die cut circles using the same pink as the card base and black and white. The circle matches up perfectly to a circle on the inside of the card. The circle on the inside is attached to another piece of DSP that is matted on another piece of black cardstock. There are a couple of smaller roses that were fussy cut and are hidden behind the front panel so you don't see them until you open the card up completely. I appreciate all of the fussy cutting as it is not my favourite thing to do.

This next card is from my friend Doreen. This is another simple but elegant card. The DSP makes the statement on this card. The purple card base coordinates so well with the purple trees in the DSP. This DSP is matted on a piece of white cardstock and then onto a piece of white and silver foil DSP. The silver foil tree ties it all together. I love how the sentiment is stamped in purple and die cut but the purple mat piece is added at an angle. The white and silver foil DSP is also on the inside matting a piece of white cardstock. Such a great idea!

This next card is from my friend Nicky. This card has many layers of gorgeousness too! It is hard to tell in the picture but this is a big card. It is 5 1/4 by 8 1/4 inches! When this card first arrived in the mail I thought it was a store bought card because it was so big. When I opened it, on my actual birthday, I was pleasantly surprised that it was a homemade beauty. The colours are incredible and coordinate so well together. The card front is orange. On top of this is a die cut piece that was watercoloured with green and yellow and then some water was splashed on top of it to give little dots of no colour. Then she embossed a beautiful flourish with gold embossing powder and coloured in the leaves and buds using the same orange. This piece was matted on a piece of gold foil that was die cut in the same shape. There are also a couple of sprigs cut from the gold foil. The sentiment piece is also matted on a die cut from gold foil and this is popped on a piece of gold ribbon that is wrapped around the card front. I will definitely be trying this big sized card.

This next card is from my friend Amy. This card also has many layers of gorgeousness. That's very typical of an Amy card. The white piece is embossed and then matted on a piece of blue with a very thin edge of blue showing. It takes quite a talent to get that lined up so perfectly. The piece on top of this is a piece of blue cardstock that was sponged using a torn or cut piece of cardstock to create a look of clouds. There is a sun peeking through the cloud layer. This is done by cutting a little slit into the blue cardstock and sticking a yellow circle into it. There are strips of yellow radiating out of the circle to be the rays of sun. It is hard to see in the picture, but the sun circle and rays are all sponged in yellow on the edges. The sentiment is heat embossed using white embossing powder on black cardstock. This is such a wow that makes the word pop. This piece was attached to a strip of DSP that was rouched to add a layer of dimension.

This next card is from my friend Vera. I'm not sure what this type of card is called but it is like a double gate fold that has been folded back on itself. When you untie the ribbon the card opens like a gate fold card. The colours she chose are directly from the beautiful DSP. The sentiment is stamped in black on the Petal Pink and die cut and then matted on a die cut from black cardstock. The stamped magnolia that is die cut ties in beautifully with the DSP. There is also a stamped and coloured magnolia on the inside.

The next two cards have to be my all time favourites. The first one is from my granddaughter, Paisley. This card is so representative of her personality. Especially the inside. She told my daughter what she wanted to say and my daughter wrote it for her. She is very active and flits from one thing to the next in a heartbeat. I love this card!

The next one is from my grandson, Everett. This card is very representative of him as well. He is a very methodical, thoughtful little man. He had his Mom write on the inside for him as well. Very sweet and to the point. I love this card!

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you have enjoyed all of my beautiful birthday cards. Huge thanks to everyone that sent me one!

Woven Card

Hello my friends! I have a really fun card to share with you today. It is a technique that I had completely forgotten about. My friend and upline shared a card with us last week and it got my creative juices flowing. The technique is to weave strips of designer series paper or cardstock to create a layer for your card. Here is what I came up with.

I cut my strips at 3/8 of an inch by 6 inches. I used strips of DSP from the Heartwarming Hugs DSP package as well as strips of Real Red and Mossy Meadow cardstock. To make it easier to work with, I attached the left edge of the horizontal strips to a scrap of paper so they wouldn't slip around while I was working with them. After I had my horizontal strips laid out, I just wove the vertical strips as if I was weaving a rug. It is a fairly easy technique and a great way to use up any scraps you have. Your strips don't even need to be the same width. One thing to keep in mind though is if your DSP has a pattern that is directional. It probably wouldn't make a huge difference but you might want to make sure your pattern is right side up. Once the weaving was done, I added a small dot of Tombo multipurpose glue to the ends of the strips so they would stay attached.

I trimmed down the strips so they would fit on my piece of Whisper White cardstock. I attached the weaved piece to the Whisper White cardstock using Tombo glue. I attached this piece to a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock and wrapped a piece of Real Red Braided Linen Trim around it and tied it into a bow. I attached this onto a Real Red card base using dimensionals.

I stamped my sentiment from Itty Bitty Christmas using Mossy Meadow ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock. I then cut it out using a die from the Hippo & Friends Dies set. I have to admit that I completely overlooked this die set initially even though I have the matching stamp set. My granddaughter loved the stamp set but I figured I could fussy cut out the animal images. Then I saw the label dies in this set being used and I could not resist. There are 10 different stitched dies that can be layered. They are really versatile. If you click on the name of the die set below, you can view all of the different dies available.

I popped my sentiment piece onto the card front using dimensionals. I then added a few red rhinestones to my sentiment piece so it didn't look to stark against the woven mat.

What I used for today's card:

Real Red Cardstock

Mossy Meadow Cardstock

Whisper White Cardstock

Mossy Meadow Classic Stampin' Pad

Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set

Hippo & Friends Dies

Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper

Real Red Braided Linen Trim

Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed today's card. I really had a lot of fun making this one. I will be sending it to a friend of mine that does a lot of quilting. I feel like it looks like a quilt so it will be perfect for her.

Evergreen Forest

Hello my friends! I hope you are all staying well. It is kind of frightening how our Covid numbers are still on the increase. I am very happy that there is now a mandatory mask rule for all indoor places. It will definitely help the situation.

Yesterday was my birthday and it was a very different kind of a celebration this year. I received many cards and many were hand made, which always makes me happy. I also had a couple of surprise pop in front door visits. A very good friend stopped by with a Chai Tea latte and a lovely present and homemade card. Then about an hour later my daughter Chelsey popped by with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, a card and another Chai Tea latte. They know me so well! I was very happy to see my daughter because she has been staying away with the high numbers. Her and her husband are both working so they see a lot of people during their day and she doesn't want to possibly bring anything to me. She wore her mask when she came in and kept her distance and we couldn't even hug. That is the worst for me. It was a cool, rainy day here so I spent most of the day in my craft room. A perfect day for a card maker!

Today's card was one of those that started out completely different from what the final project was. Does that ever happen for you? I knew I wanted to use this embossing folder but that was it.

I started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock that I embossed using the Evergreen Forest 3D embossing folder. I then sponged on some Garden Green and Mossy Meadow ink all over the embossed trees. To make the night sky, I sponged on a few different inks - Crumb Cake, Petal Pink, Basic Gray and then a light sponging of Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Once I had the colouring that I was happy with, I flicked on some drops of Frost White Shimmer Paint using a dry Water Painter. You could use a regular paint brush but I didn't know where my paint brushes were and this was handy. Once the shimmer paint had dried, I attached this to a piece of Basic Black cardstock. I wrapped a piece of Whisper White Crinkled seam binding ribbon around this and tied it into a knot.

I used  Whisper White Thick cardstock for my card base. I added a piece of Garden Green cardstock on top of this to be a mat behind the Basic Black cardstock. I attached the card front to the base using dimensionals.

I stamped my sentiment from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set using Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. I punched this out using the Classic Label punch and added this to my card using dimensionals.

What I used for today's card:

Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder

Whisper White Thick Cardstock

Garden Green Cardstock

Basic Black Cardstock

Whisper White Cardstock

Garden Green Classic Stampin' Pad

Mossy Meadow Classic Stampin' Pad

Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' Pad

Basic Gray Classic Stampin' Pad

Petal Pink Classic Stampin' Pad

Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad

Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set

Classic Label Punch

Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon

Frost White Shimmer Paint

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed today's card. I was quite pleased with how it turned out, even though it was so far from what I started to make.

Detailed Dove

Hello my friends! I have designed this card as one of my Christmas card class cards. Because we are not able to get together in person to stamp, I have been trying to use more word dies and less stamping on my class cards. One of my favourite combinations for a Christmas card is Whisper White and silver which is how this card came to be.

I started with a Whisper White Thick card base. On top of this, I added a piece of Silver foil. Before I added my Silver foil though, I cut out parts of the dove that I would need - her tail, wing and the branch she holds in her beak. On top of this piece, I added a piece of Whisper White cardstock that I embossed using the Dainty Diamonds 3D Embossing folder.

I cut out the dove and the detailed wing from the Detailed Dove die set using Whisper White cardstock. I attached the silver foil pieces to the tail and wing. I attached the dove to the card front using dimensionals and added the wing using dimensionals and a little bit of Tombo multipurpose glue where the wing attached to the body of the dove. I added the little branch using Tombo so that it looked like the dove is holding it in her beak. To complete the dove, I added a rhinestone for her eye.

The word "peace" which is the only sentiment on this card was cut from the Joy Dies set. I only used the two smaller layers of this sentiment. There are three different words in this set (Joy, Peace and Bright) and each word has three different sizes that layer together beautifully. I cut the thinnest layer out of Silver foil that I added adhesive sheet to so it would be easier to stick down. I cut the medium size layer out of Whisper White cardstock. I layered the silver layer onto the Whisper White layer and then added the completed word to the card front using dimensionals.

So a funny story about this card. When I was cutting and prepping for my card kits, Bailey the cat came down to "help" me. I had a small pile of the words peace that I had cut out of the silver foil with the adhesive sheet attached to it. Of course that is the exact spot she decided to sit down on. When she got up, she had a few words stuck to her bottom. She has medium long hair so lots of things stick to her fur. She was very upset with me that I was trying to remove the words from her behind. She is such a diva!

What I used for today's card:

Whisper White Thick Cardstock

Silver Foil Sheets

Whisper White Cardstock

Detailed Dove Dies

Joy Dies

Dainty Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder

Rhinestone Basic Jewels

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed today's card. What is your favourite colour combination for Christmas cards? I would love to hear from you all, let me know your faves.

Stay healthy and keep creating!

Challenge Card

Today's card was made for the As You See It challenge. You can check them out here http://www.asyouseeitchallenge.com/.

I absolutely love these colours so I had to partake in this challenge. When I saw this challenge, I immediately knew I wanted to do an emboss resist technique. The next dilemma was which stamp to use. I first started with the Poinsettia Petals stamp but then I noticed that one of the design team gals had used this set so I decided not to. I chose Forever Blossoms instead. It was refreshing to make something that was not Christmas. Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas but that is all I've been working on so this was a nice break.

I stamped the large flower image onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock using Versamark ink. I added Whisper White embossing powder and heated it to melt. Once cooled, I started sponging on my ink colours. I used Pear Pizzazz on the leaves and stems and then added some Flirty Flamingo to most of the flowers. I filled in the rest of the white space using Petal Pink. Then I added a very light sponging of Basic Gray on the edges all around the piece of cardstock. I then used a tissue to wipe any ink off of the embossed image so the white would pop more. I matted this on to a piece of Basic Gray cardstock.

I used  Thick Whisper White cardstock for my card base. On top of this I used a piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock that I embossed using the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder. This was added to the card base using Tombo multi purpose glue. I added my sponged piece to the Flirty Flamingo layer using dimensionals.

I stamped my sentiment from the stamp set Here's a Card using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. This was my qualifying black colour. I stamped this onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and cut it out using a die from the Tasteful Labels die set. This was added to the card using a combination of Tombo glue and dimensionals. I felt there was something missing from the card at this point. I tried various combinations of ribbon but it just wasn't working for me. I then added a few Elegant Faceted Gems and was pleased with that.

What I used for today's card:

Whisper White Thick Cardstock

Whisper White Cardstock

Basic Gray Cardstock

Flirty Flamingo Cardstock

Flirty Flamingo Classic Stampin' Pad

Petal Pink Classic Stampin' Pad

Pear Pizzazz Classic Stampin' Pad

Basic Gray Classic Stampin' Pad

Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad

Versamark Pad

White Stampin' Emboss Powder

Here's a Card Stamp

Forever Blossoms Stamp

Tasteful Labels Dies

Elegant Faceted Gems

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this non-Christmas style card. I encourage you to give these challenges a try. They are so much fun and get your creativity flowing .

Gift Card Holders

Hello friends! Today I will be sharing two different gift card holders. These are both designs that I recently learned by doing some online training. I showed a picture of the first one I will share last week. It was designed by Allison Okamitsu. I used Allison's basic design but switched things up as far as decorating goes.

I started with a piece of Real Red cardstock that was scored along two of the short sides and one long side at 1/4". I then cut out the corner square where the score lines crossed. See picture below.

I folded along the score lines and burnished well. Then I used Tear and Tape to attach this piece to the back of the front piece. The Tear and Tape is a little bit wider than the scored edge but if you roll the extra bit back onto itself it works well. You could also use Tombo multi purpose glue because you want something that will really hold but I thought it might be a little messy.

I stamped the pine boughs onto a piece of Whisper White using Garden Green stamped off once. I stamped it randomly all over the cardstock. I then attached a strip of designer paper from the Heartwarming Hugs pack. The original gift card holder that we made in Allison's training used a strip of DSP that was 1 inch wide but I had this piece that was 3/4 inch wide so I used it rather than cutting into a full sheet of DSP.

I cut out the two smaller bells from the Cherish the Season bundle out of Silver Foil and cut out some pine boughs from Garden Green cardstock. I attached the pine boughs using Tombo glue and the bells using dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment onto a strip of Whisper White cardstock using Real Red ink and attached it to the front of my holder using dimensionals.

I wrapped the Snowflake Splendor ribbon around my gift card and put it into the holder. I coloured a piece of linen thread using my Real Red Stampin' Blend and tied that around the ribbon. That is the first gift card holder. Thanks Allison for sharing this with us!

What I used for the first gift card holder:

Real Red Cardstock

Whisper White Cardstock

Garden Green Cardstock

Silver Foil Sheets

Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper

Cherish the Season Bundle

Real Red Stampin' Blends

Linen Thread

Snowflake Splendor Ribbon

Stitched so Sweetly Dies

Real Red Classic Stampin' Pad

Garden Green Classic Stampin' Pad

The second gift card holder was one I learned of from Shauna Mikuliak at another online course. I did the same basic design style as Shauna but of course I used different paper and decorated it to make it my own.

I started with a quarter sheet of Pretty Peacock cardstock and used that as my base. I cut a piece of DSP from the Brightly Gleaming pack down to 4 X 12 and scored it at 4 and 8. I placed the DSP in the trimmer at an angle lining up the score line at the 4 inch mark and the outer corner to cut at a diagonal. I then folded the DSP so that the diagonal piece folds over the middle portion of the DSP. That will create the pocket for putting the gift card into. I attached this with a strip of Tear and Tape along the bottom.

I then laid the ribbon across the card base and attached the DSP piece to this using Tombo glue. I placed the ribbon so it would be in the bottom third of the card.

On a small piece of Very Vanilla cardstock I stamped the sentiment using Pretty Peacock ink. I used the dies from Stitched so Sweetly to cut this out. I also cut out the next size die from the DSP and attached the sentiment piece to the Pretty Peacock side of the DSP. I attached this to the front of my gift card holder using dimensionals.

I stamped the smaller ornament from the Christmas Gleaming stamp set onto some Very Vanilla cardstock using Versamark ink. I added gold embossing powder, heated it to melt and then punched it out using the corresponding punch. I added these ornaments to the front of my gift card holder using dimensionals.

I cut the largest rectangle from the Stitched so Sweetly dies set and added that to the inside of the gift holder so I would have something to write on. Thanks Shauna for sharing this awesome design!

What I used to make the second gift card holder:

Pretty Peacock Cardstock

Very Vanilla Cardstock

Brightly Gleaming Designer Series Paper

Christmas Gleaming Bundle

Itty Bitty Christmas

Stitched so Sweetly Dies

Pretty Peacock Classic Stampin' Pad

Versamark Pad

Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder

Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed today's post. I think it's always good to have some gift card holders on hand for Christmas. There are always those people that you don't know what to give so you end up giving them a gift card. It is nice to jazz them up so the recipient knows that you were really thinking of them. You know those people like your mail person, hair stylist, UPS delivery person - they will appreciate the gift cards even more when they are prettied up in a gift card holder.

Cherish the Season

Hello friends! This has been a really fun week for me. I took part in a Business Training Expo on Wednesday. It was an all day event through Facebook live put on by Allison Okamitsu. Allison is a very well known Canadian demonstrator. She had presentations for us from Robyn Cardon, Kylie Bertucci, Julie Kettlewell as well as herself. The presentations were very informative. Of course, we can't have any kind of a Stampin' Up! training event or meeting without making some cards. Allison sent us all the supplies to make a total of 4 cards and 2 gift card holders. We used the Cherish the Season bundle to make everything. All of these projects are completely Allison's designs.

Here is a picture of the gift card holders. If you pull the ribbon the gift card comes out of the pocket on the back. One neat thing we did on this project that I hadn't tried before is we coloured our Linen Thread using a Stampin' Blend. I have coloured ribbon and baker's twine many times before but I had never tried to colour our Linen Thread.

Here is a picture of our second project. This is a lovely card! I think I would prefer if I had stamped the pine boughs closer to the upper and lower edge so that more of it would show. When we were making these cards it went by very quickly. I am pleased with the cards as they are though.

Here is a picture of our third project. I think it is so clever that it is a card with a gift on it. This is such a simple but sweet card.

We were also given some challenges during the day. There were three different challenges. The first was a cozy winter picture, the second was a sketch challenge and the third was a challenge to use any green or blue on a card. Here are the cards I came up with. I hope you like them.

As you are reading this blog post, I will be attending Stampin' Up!'s On Stage at Home. Normally we would be at a convention at a super fun place (last year this time we were in Las Vegas) but since we can't travel anywhere we will be doing things at home. I'm really looking forward to seeing what is new in the Stampin' Up! world. We will also get to see the new January to June mini catalogue and have the opportunity to order some items from it this weekend. Of course we will be making some cards so I will share those when I am able.

What we used to make Allison's projects:

Cherish the Season Bundle

Hippo & Friends Dies

Whisper White Thick Cardstock

Whisper White Cardstock

Real Red Cardstock

Pear Pizzazz Cardstock

Silver Foil Sheets

Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper

Linen Thread

Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon

Real Red Sheer Ribbon

Mossy Meadow Diagonal Stripe Ribbon

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you have enjoyed today's cards. I hope they give you inspiration to create some amazing Christmas cards.

Stay healthy and keep creating!

Curvy Christmas

Hello my friends. You are probably surprised to receive another blog post notification from me. Well, I have been having so much fun doing this that I have added on another day! I hope you are as excited as I am!

Today's card features a brand new product that will be available to order today, November 3rd. It will be available in the new January to June mini catalogue but is available as a pre-order now. As a demonstrator, I was able to order it early. It is so much fun!

For this card, I first stamped the curved Christmas trees using Mossy Meadow ink on a piece of Whisper White cardstock. I then stamped the sentiment using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I used one of  the curved dies in the bundle to cut the curvy edge on a piece of DSP from the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper pack. I attached this to the piece of cardstock that I had stamped on. I then attached this entire piece to a mat of a Copper Foil Sheet. Fortunately I was able to punch out some images that I will be using for my upcoming Stamper's Dozen class. I like to cut out something from the center of a large piece of a foil sheet if I am just going to cover it all up anyway. I highly recommend doing that if you can when using your higher priced sheets. It is much more cost effective that way.

I wrapped this part of the card with a piece of Whisper White crinkled seam binding ribbon that I coloured using my Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blends. I didn't have any Mossy Meadow ribbon so this was the next best thing. I love using my Stampin' Blends to colour ribbon because it dries REALLY fast and it is the true colour to match the coordinating cardstock and DSP.

I attached this card front to a Mossy Meadow card base using dimensionals. I really like Mossy Meadow as a green. It is a very rich, Christmasy green. I will definitely not be giving it to my one friend though as she really does not like Mossy Meadow. If you are reading this Su, don't worry, this card is not for you.

What I used for today's card:

Quite Curvy Bundle

Curvy Christmas Photopolymer Stamp

Mossy Meadow Cardstock

Whisper White Cardstock

Copper Foil Sheets

Mossy Meadow Classic Stampin' Pad

Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad

Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon

Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed today's card. The Curvy Christmas stamp and the Quite Curvy Bundle will be available to order today, November 3rd.
