Hello my friends! I am really excited to share today's card with you. I am using a new bundle from the new January to June catalogue called Friends are Like Seashells. It is a gorgeous set! If you love the sea or shells you will definitely want this set.
I created a beach scene for today's card. I started with a piece of Pool Party cardstock. I added a strip of Sahara Sand cardstock along the bottom that I tore along the top edge so that it looked like a sandy beach. On top of this I added sea shells, sea weed, a sand dollar and a star fish. I used our new Pearlescent Specialty Paper that I embossed using the Seashells 3D Embossing Folder. This paper is absolutely stunning! It really looks like pearl. Once I embossed the paper, I cut the images out using the Seaside Seashells Dies which is in the bundle. It is a large die that cuts out all of the images at the same time. I was a little concerned that it might be hard to line up the images but it is super easy. The images fit into the die perfectly. If you don't want to use it as one large image, it is really simple to snip them apart.
After I had the images all snipped apart, I used the blending brushes to add colour to them. The colours I used are Old Olive, Balmy Blue, Pool Party, Highland Heather, Blushing Bride, Soft Sea Foam, Calypso Coral and Petal Pink. The pearlescent paper blended so beautifully. The sand dollar and starfish were stamped on the pearlescent paper using our classic stampin' pads. I did find that it took quite a while for the ink to dry because this paper is so shiny. It's totally worth it though because this paper is so pretty. Once the images were dry, I used the corresponding dies to cut them out.
I added my seaweed, shells, sand dollar and starfish on my Pool Party piece using Tombo multipurpose glue and dimensionals. I then matted this on to a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock and then added this to a Sahara Sand card base.
What I used for today's card:
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card. This is a beautiful set for all of us beach lovers. I am looking forward to being able to travel to warm, sandy beaches with seashells one day. In the meantime, I will enjoy my beach cards.
Stay well and keep creating!
I stamped my sentiment in the upper right corner using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
