Hello my friends! I hope you are all doing well. It has been very sunny and warm here lately which is quite atypical for winter in Kelowna. Usually it is grey and cloudy all winter but I feel like we've had quite a lot more sun than we normally get in the winter. And it's been warm! I love it. It makes me feel like Spring is on the way.
Today's card makes me feel like Spring as well. The colours are bright and happy and flowers always make me think of Spring. I used the Hydrangea Haven stamp and dies bundle to create today's card. Hydrangeas also remind me of my Auntie that sadly passed away this summer. She used to live on Vancouver Island and there were zillions of hydrangeas there in all different colours. My favourite was a purplish-blue one that was huge.
I stamped the hydrangea on a piece of Whisper White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I then stamped the flower top using Gorgeous Grape ink that I stamped off once. I stamped the stem and leaves using Granny Apple Green ink. After I stamped this image, I cut it out using the Stitched Rectangle dies. I layered this on top of a piece of Basic Black cardstock. I then layered this on to a piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock that I cut out using the next size up of the Stitched Rectangle dies. I wrapped a piece of Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon around this piece and tied it into a knot. This ribbon ties very nicely and holds the knot or bow really well. Some times ribbon is really slippery so it is hard to work with but this ribbon is not like that at all.
I used a small piece of Whisper White cardstock to stamp the sentiment using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I also stamped the tiny leaf and flower image on to this piece as well. I used Gorgeous Grape and Granny Apple Green ink that I stamped off so it would be a lighter shade. I then used the little label die that is in the Hydrangea Haven bundle to cut this out. I tied it to the knot in my Gorgeous Grape ribbon using the white baker's twine from the Snail Mail Twine Combo. I also used a dimensional to attach it to my card so that it would stay in place.
I used a Gorgeous Grape card base for this card. On top of this I added a piece of Whisper White cardstock that I matted with a piece of Basic Black cardstock. I added the pieces with the hydrangea to this using dimensionals.
What I used for today's card:
Whisper White Cardstock (No Longer Available)
Gorgeous Grape Classic Stampin' Pad
Granny Apple Green Classic Stampin' Pad
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card and it brightened your day. Is it bright and sunny where you are? I find it amazing how the sunshine improves my mood immediately. If I feel a little blue, the sun just perks me up right away. How about you?
Stay well and keep creating!
Terry
