Hello my friends! So today's card is one that I made a while ago. I belong to a group on Facebook called Knittin' for Kittens. It is a group that supports different cat rescues. Recently they had a blitz to knit blankets and toys for the rescues to give to the cats when they go to their forever homes. I had to mail something to the gal that is head coordinator of this group so of course I had to make a card to put it in. You can't just send something in an envelope, that would be wrong.
I used the Playful Pets DSP for this card. Since this card was for the head of a cat rescue I obviously needed to use the cat images from this DSP. I started with a card base of Flirty Flamingo and on top of that I put a layer of Basic Black. On top of that I put a layer of DSP from the Playful Pets package. The top portion of the card is one side of the paper and the scripty portion on the bottom of the card is the reverse side of the same paper. I put a strip of Real Red cardstock across where the two pieces of DSP join so it would not be seen. Then I wrapped a piece of Baker's twine around the strip of red cardstock and tied it into a bow.
I used another sheet of DSP from this package to cut out the cat image and the ball of yarn image. I placed these images onto a circle of Whisper White cardstock that I cut using the Stitched Shapes Dies. I matted this stitched circle with a scalloped circle that I cut out of Basic Black cardstock using the Layering Circles dies. I added this to the card front using dimensionals.
An interesting thing with this card is that it has no sentiment. I didn't really know the person that I was sending it to so I didn't know which sentiment to go with. On the inside, I just wrote a few lines and signed it. I heard from her when she received the card and she absolutely loved it.
What I used for today's card:
Whisper White Cardstock (No Longer Available)
Basic Black Baker's Twine (Retired)
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card. As a crazy cat lady this set is definitely something for me. There are dog images as well if you are more a dog person than a cat person. I feel that you are either one or the other. Which one are you?
Stay well and keep creating!
