Bamboo Beauty

Hello my friends! I hope you all had a great weekend. I spent a lot of time in my craft room. I signed up for another Business Expo and Creativity Party for Saturday. For some reason, I thought it was next Saturday so I'm glad it was this Saturday. I am hoping we will get out to the lake sometime soon. I guess it all depends on the weather though. I will share some of our things from the creativity party in the next posts.

Today's card was made using the Bamboo Beauty stamp set. I knew as soon as I saw this stamp set that I had to have it. Unfortunately it hadn't seen any ink until just now. It is such a pretty stamp set.

I started by using my Blending Brushes to add ink to a piece of Basic White cardstock. I started with the lightest colour at the top and ended with the darkest colour at the bottom. I added ink colours in this order: Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze and finally Merry Merlot. The Blending Brushes make blending the inks so easy and smooth. After I applied my inks, I used my Water Painter to flick some droplets of water onto the cardstock. The ink disappears where the water drops are so it gives a really nice speckled appearance.

Once the water drops were dry, I stamped my bamboo images. I used Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp these images. I stamped the larger branches and then added the smaller leafy images. I added the smaller of the two large branches at an angle and stamped part of it off the page. I am pleased with how it turned out.

I matted this stamped piece on to a piece of Basic Black cardstock. I then added this to a Basic White Thick card base using dimensionals. I really tried to add ribbon or baker's twine to this card but it was not working. I have a really hard time making a card without ribbon or twine but I felt that it just looked wrong so I left it out completely.

I stamped my sentiment on to a piece of Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. The sentiment is from the Bamboo Beauty stamp set as well. I used my paper snips to cut around the sentiment. I added it to my card front using dimensionals. I used a single dimensional where it attached to the stamped piece and used a double layer of dimensionals where it attached directly to the card base. That way it would be level as the stamped piece was put on with dimensionals as well.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card. I certainly enjoyed creating it. I am sure I will be making many more cards with this stamp set. Have you got this set yet? I think it is one of those overlooked stamps but it is a must have.

Stay well and keep creating!

Terry
