Hello my friends! I think Mother Nature heard me as it feels like summer is trying to make a comeback. I sure hope so! I much prefer the hot, sunny days to the cool, cloudy ones. Although it is apparently supposed to be cool and rainy on the weekend here. Great day for crafting!!
Today's card was also created for one of the challenges for the training day that I took part in. This technique is called "Multiple Embossing". You use more than one embossing powder to create a really pretty look.
I immediately thought of the Simply Elegance stamp set to use to try this technique.
I stamped the beautiful swirl image in two corners of a piece of Basic Black cardstock using Versamark. This next part is the tricky part. You add one colour of embossing powder to only a portion of the stamped image. I started with silver embossing powder in the center of my images. Then you have to quickly but carefully flip your cardstock over so you don't get the embossing powder on other parts of the Versamark stamped image. Then I added my second colour of embossing powder, gold. I tried to add it to about a third of the image but as I flipped my cardstock over, it carried over into more of the stamped image than I was hoping. I added my third colour of embossing powder, which was copper. I filled in any of the stamped image that did not have embossing powder already on it. I then heated the image with my heat tool to melt it all of the embossing powders and it looks gorgeous! All three of the embossing powders I used on this card are available in the Metallics Embossing Powders set. I use a small spoon to add the powders to my image as I find I have better control of where it is going that way.
I then stamped my sentiment in the very center of my card using Versamark. I added gold embossing powder and heated it to melt. The sentiment is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.
I matted my stamped cardstock onto a piece of Gold Foil Sheet and then added it to a Basic Black card base.
To add a little more bling, I tied a bow using the gold cord from the Simply Elegant Trim pack and attached it to the front of my card.
What I used for today's card:
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card. I challenge you to give it a try, the results are beautiful. The only think you really need to be careful of is transferring different coloured embossing powders in the wrong container.
Stay well and keep creating!
Terry
This is so elegant
