Art in Bloom

Hello my friends! Well this has been quite the week hasn't it? The heat is all everyone can talk about because it is crazy hot here. I love the heat but this is a bit too hot even for me. I have never experienced temperatures like this ever before. I hope everyone is staying safe out there!

Today's card features a bundle that I completely missed in the catalogue. I didn't notice it until Sara Douglass (CEO of Stampin' Up!) did a video on it and I immediately needed it! It is a hybrid set so you can die cut and emboss your image at the same time!! True story. It's called the Art in Bloom Bundle and it is on page 157 of the annual catalogue. The bundle includes the stamp set, dies and the 3D embossing folder.

The stamp is a two step stamp so there is a stamp for the outline of the flower (and leaves) and a second stamp for filling in the image. I started by stamping the outline of the flowers using Highland Heather ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock. The outline images are all together on one stamp so it makes it easy to line them up. I then stamped the filling in part of the flowers using Fresh Freesia ink that I stamped off once. These stamps are separate so if you wanted to make your flowers different colours it would be much easier to do.

I then placed the die into the embossing folder. There is only one way for it to fit so you cannot do it wrong. I was concerned that I might put it in backwards but it's not possible. I added my cardstock that I had stamped my flowers on and ran it through the Cut and Emboss machine. The cardstock came out with the 3D embossing and the flowers were cut out. I was also concerned that the die would cut into the other side of the embossing folder but it doesn't at all! This is so magical!

I attached the embossed piece to a piece of Fresh Freesia cardstock using Tombo multipurpose glue. I wrapped the Fresh Freesia Open Weave ribbon around the lower portion of my card and tied it into a knot. I then added my flowers back into the spaces they were cut out from using dimensionals.

I stamped the outlines of the leaves using Just Jade ink on a strip of Basic White cardstock. I then stamped the filling in portions using Soft Succulent ink that I stamped off once. I used the corresponding dies from the set to cut out the leaves. I added them to my card front using Tombo glue. I added my card front to a Basic White Thick card base using dimensionals.

I stamped my sentiment using Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock. I used my paper snips to trim around the words and added it to my card using dimensionals. The sentiment is in the Art in Bloom stamp set which is part of the bundle. To finish off the card, I added some Fresh Freesia jewels from the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card. I really encourage you to check out this bundle, it is amazing! I definitely need to use it again. I have so many ideas going around in my head now. I have been spending my spare time down in my craft room since it is too hot to be outside. How do you spend your time when it's this hot out? Leave me a comment and let me know.

Stay well and keep creating!

Terry
