Hand Penned Double Z Fold

Hello my friends! What a beautiful Fall it is. I guess technically Fall doesn't arrive until Wednesday but it is feeling like Fall. We have had some rain but we really need it. Today it is warm and sunny. I'm glad I had to go out to vote or I might not have left the house. I've been busy getting the last minute things ready for our big event this Sunday. I'm so excited, it's going to be so fun! I've been so busy doing event things that I almost forgot to make a card for today's post.....

I decided to make a Double Z fold card and then decided I should use the Beautifully Penned DSP from the Sale-a-bration catalog. This DSP is only available as a free item when you spend $60 from any other catalogues. That led me to use one of my favouriteI colour combinations of black and pink.

I started with my card bases of Basic Black. I cut my larger and smaller Z pieces from Basic Black. On the larger Z piece I added a mat of Polished Pink cardstock and on top of that the striped piece of DSP from the Beautifully Penned DSP pack.

On the smaller Z piece, I added a mat of  Polished Pink with a piece of Basic White cardstock for the inside panel. For the front panel, I used a piece of the Polka Dot DSP from the Beautifully Penned DSP pack which I matted on a piece of Polished Pink cardstock. I tied a piece of black baker's twine around this piece and then added it to the front panel of the smaller Z piece. The baker's twine is from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the flower image from the Hand Penned Petals stamp set using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I used the stamps for filling in the image to stamp the flowers and leaves. I used Polished Pink for the flowers and Granny Apple Green for the leaves. I used the corresponding die from the Penned Flowers Dies set to cut out the image. I added this to the front panel using dimensionals.

I stamped my sentiment from the Many Messages stamp set using Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a scrap of Basic White cardstock. I used the matching Messages Die to cut out my sentiment and added it to my card front using dimensionals.

Here is a picture of the card opened up to give you a better idea of how it looks:

  1. Last week, I challenged myself to learn as many new fun fold cards as I could. I have done many, but this was not one of them! It'll go on my list for sure! Thanks Terry :)
