Hello my friends! Today was a cool and rainy day which is the perfect day to craft. I made a card for today's blog post and another dozen cards for my Team Canada project. I probably told you about the project months ago but it is a group of demonstrators that are sending homemade cards to fellow demonstrators to recognize them for being awesome. I don't want to say more about that as it is supposed to be a surprise for those who are receiving the cards.
For today's card, I wanted to use the colour Cajun Craze. I had forgotten about it but when I was prepping for last weekend's event I came across it and decided it was time to use it again. I really like this colour but I only seem to use it during the Fall season. It is a perfect Fall colour but I imagine it could be used any time of the year. I just don't seem to use it during the rest of the year.
I started with a piece of Basic White cardstock. I stamped my sentiment in the upper right corner using Early Espresso ink. On the lower half of the cardstock, I added a piece of the Cork Specialty Paper. This paper is unbelievable! It looks and feels like real cork but it is paper. I have no idea how it was made but I am sure it must have real cork in it. On top of the cork paper, I wrapped a piece of the Diamond Weave Ribbon and secured it at the back.
I stamped the flowery pumpkin image from the Pretty Pumpkins bundle in Cajun Craze ink on Cajun Craze cardstock. I used the coordinating die from the bundle to cut it out. I also used the two other pumpkin dies to cut out the fillagree pumpkin and the detailed pumpkin. I added some adhesive sheets to our Gold Foil Sheets and then cut out these two pumpkins. It made attaching them to my card front so much easier! I attached them directly to my card front and then attached the cajun craze pumpkin using dimensionals. I added a little bow using the gold trim from the Simply Elegant Trim package to the cajun craze pumpkin using a glue dot.
I attached my card front to a Cajun Craze card base using dimensionals. To finish off the card, I added a couple Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots in gold. These metallic dots are so pretty and they come in three different colours - gold, bronze and copper.
