Wonder and Whimsey

Hello friends! I hope you are all keeping well with this crazy weather we are having. Right now, here in Kelowna it is absolutely beautiful. It is 9 degrees and sunny but apparently it is raining again at the coast. I heard on the radio this morning that on this day 5 years ago it was minus 26 degrees. I will take this weather over the freezing cold any day! I hope everyone down at the coast is safe. With all of the road closures it is causing difficulties throughout the whole province. There are huge delays with receiving mail and parcels. My last Stampin' Up! order is delayed with no updates. Thankfully my ladies are so very understanding!

In my last post, I shared that I am involved in a Secret Santa gift exchange with my Business Expo group. The gal whose name I got stated that her favourite colour is Mint Macaron. I designed this card with that in mind but I liked it so much that I decided to make it one of my monthly stamp group cards. If you are in stamp group and don't want a spoiler alert, stop reading right now.

I started with a Mint Macaron card base that is longer than our regular 8.5 by 5.5. It is actually 11 by 5.5 with an accordion folded panel on the front. There is also a smaller card base that is attached to the accordion panels. I used the Wonder and Whimsey DSP on all of the panels and on the inside of the card. This DSP is so pretty! I used a different piece from the package for each panel so I could enjoy all of the beautiful designs.

On the smaller Mint Macaron card base, I added two squares of Basic White cardstock. On the front panel, I attached three of the tiny whimsical trees from the Christmas Trees Dies set. These trees are so cute! I cut the trees out of a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock that had an adhesive sheet attached to it. That made adding the trees to the card so easy. On the second panel, I stamped one of the sentiments from the Whimsical Trees stamp set using Mossy Meadow ink. The smaller card base was then attached to the first and fourth accordion panel using adhesive.

I added another piece of Basic White cardstock to the inside panel of the card. I attached a fourth whimsical tree to this piece as well. This piece is intended to be where you can write on the card and sign your name.

What I used for today's card:

Whimsy & Wonder DSP

Whimsical Trees Stamp

Christmas Trees Dies

Mint Macaron Cardstock

Basic White Cardstock

Mossy Meadow Cardstock

Mossy Meadow Classic Stampin' Pad

Adhesive Sheets

As you know, it was my birthday this month. I have received many amazing, beautiful cards. Due to the road closures some cards have been arriving late. That just means that my birthday celebration gets to be extended longer. I received the most amazing handmade cards on Friday from the loves of my life. They created the cards by themselves but had help with some of the words and the bow. I absolutely love them!

Here is the card from Paisley:

This is the inside. In case you can't read what is written it says " Happy Birthday Nana, Have a good birthday! Lots of Kisses & Hugs! Get lots of presents...Paisley" I love that she printed her own name! They are getting so grown up....

Here is the card from Everett:

And here is the inside of Everett's card:

It is much easier to read what is written in his card. I'm not sure what the picture is of but he did a great job of colouring and printing!

I find it so interesting to see their designs. Paisley is always more is better, hence the many, many googly eyes on the front of her card. Everett is more of the sweet and simple but elegant style.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed the card I designed as well as the cards from my littles.

Stay well and keep creating!

Christmas Season Gift Card Holder

Hello friends! It is time for me to get started on my Christmas shopping and making gifts for family. I am taking part in a Secret Santa gift exchange with my Business Expo group. We were given a price limit to spend and were given a few clues on what your recipient might like. My recipient lives in Ontario so I needed to keep in mind that I would need to mail the gift across the country. We were also told we could not just send a gift card as that is a bit of a cop out. We were allowed to make a gift card a part of the gift but as long as it's only a small part of it. I found out that my recipient was a Tim Horton's gal. I feel that you are either Team Tim Horton's or Team Starbucks. You don't do both and you are completely loyal to your team. Knowing this, I got her a Tim Horton's gift card for a small part of her gift. Of course I can't just send a gift card in a plain envelope so I made a gift card holder.

This gift card holder is like one that I made last Christmas. I started with a piece of Real Red cardstock that I cut out using the largest die in the Stitched So Sweetly Dies set. On the back of this piece I added another piece of Real Red cardstock that I scored at 1/4 inch on three sides and attached to the back of the die cut piece using Tear and Tape. The gift card slides into this little pocket on the back.

On the front I added a piece of Basic White cardstock. I stamped the pine bough image from the Christmas Season stamp set onto this piece using Garden Green ink. I added a strip of DSP from the Heartwarming Hugs DSP package. I attached this piece directly to the front of the die cut piece.

I stamped the holly leaves from the same stamp set using Garden Green ink on a scrap of Basic White cardstock. I cut these out using the corresponding die from the Seasonal Labels Dies set. I added these to the front of the gift card holder using dimensionals. I also stamped the holly berries from this set using Real Red ink on Basic White cardstock. I cut these out using the corresponding die. The stamp and die is actually four holly berries but I only wanted the three berries so I simply snipped one off after I die cut them. I added the berries to the holly leaves using adhesive. I stamped my sentiment from the Frosted Gingerbread stamp set using Real Red ink on a strip of Basic White cardstock. I cut a banner cut into both edges of my sentiment piece and added it to the gift card holder using dimensionals.

I used Real Red Sheer Ribbon to wrap around the gift card and tied a bow using some white baker's twine from the Baker's Twine Essential Pack. I had to go with the Real Red theme since this is for a Tim Horton's Gift card.

Here are a couple pictures of the gift card holder:

What I used for today's Gift Card Holder:

Christmas Season Stamp

Seasonal Labels Dies

Real Red Cardstock

Basic White Cardstock

Heartwarming Hugs DSP

Frosted Gingerbread Stamp

Garden Green Classic Stampin' Pad

Real Red Classic Stampin' Pad

Real Red Sheer Ribbon

Baker's Twine Essentials Pack

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this gift card holder. It was a fairly easy one to make but I think it is nice and will be appreciated by the recipient.

Stay well and keep creating!

All For Baby #2

 Hello friends!

Today I am sharing the card I made for my daughter for her baby shower. I have always wanted to make this style of card but for some reason, I just never did until now. It was so much fun to make (except for all of the math) and I love how it turned out.

I used the All For Baby Bundle again. It is my favourite baby set in the catalogue.

I started with a card base of Smoky Slate. On top of that I added a layer of Blushing Bride cardstock. On top of that I added my dresser. To make this, I started with a rectangle of Basic White cardstock and used the Everyday Label Punch on the bottom to make it look like the dresser has legs. I added a strip of Basic White cardstock to the top of the dresser to be the top. I stamped my sentiment on this piece using Basic Gray ink. I cut out small rectangles of Basic White cardstock and added them to the dresser using dimensionals. These are the drawers for the dresser. I used a sponge dauber to sponge on some Smoky Slate ink to all of the edges of the dresser and drawers to make it pop a little more. I am quite pleased with how it turned out. To complete the dresser, I added Gilded Gems to be the drawer pulls.

I then stamped the different clothes items on a piece of Basic White cardstock using Mint Macaron, Blushing Bride and So Saffron inks. I cut the items out using their corresponding dies from the bundle. In the die set there is also a die to cut out the hanger. I cut out two hangers from some Basic Gray cardstock. I used some Tombo multipurpose adhesive to attach the two onesies to the hangers. I attached the onesies to the drawers using dimensionals and the bib using regular adhesive.

What I used for today's card:

All For Baby Bundle

Smoky Slate Cardstock

Blushing Bride Cardstock

Basic White Cardstock

Basic Gray Cardstock

Smoky Slate Classic Stampin' Pad

Basic Gray Classic Stampin' Pad

Mint Macaron Classic Stampin' Pad

Blushing Bride Classic Stampin' Pad

So Saffron Classic Stampin' Pad

Everyday Label Punch

Gilded Gems

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card. I had a lot of fun making it! My daughter loved it and that was the most important thing.

We held her baby shower on Sunday. It was a surprise for her. She knew she was having a shower but she thought it was next weekend at my house. My son in law took her out to do some errands and while they were out, her friends and I snuck in to their house and decorated and got everything set up for the shower. She was totally surprised and loved it all. The theme was High Tea. Initially she thought we should all go out to a fancy restaurant for High Tea but the cost for that was going to be outrageous. She wanted to do it at her house and then plan it all which is why I took over and made it a surprise for her. Otherwise she would have wanted to be involved in every little detail. This was so much better. We used her China tea cups that she got from her husband's grandmother and we used my Mom's China teapot. That way they were there with us as well.

For the thank you gifts for the gals I went to every second hand store in our area and bought China tea cup and saucer sets. I also got little succulent plants and the plan was that they could take a succulent and put it in the tea cup to take home. Of course I had to decorate the succulents and make them prettier. I made little tags using the Taylor Made Tags Dies. I used Blushing Bride and Basic White cardstock that I stamped on with Basic Gray ink. I used the All For Baby Stamp and the Plentiful Plants Stamp. I also added some Resin Heart Embellishments to the tags. These are now retired but they were perfect for these tags. I also tied some ribbon around the pot to add a bow to the plants. I used the Blushing Bride Chevron Ribbon that is also retired. Unfortunately that was the only Blushing Bride Ribbon that I had. I used some white baker's twine from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack to tie the tags on to the ribbon on the plants. I am thrilled with how they turned out. Here are a few pictures. First the tags by themselves, then tied on the plant and then the tray of plants waiting to go home with the guests.

Thanks again for stopping by.

Stamping Business Expo

Hello friends! On the Wednesday before On Stage I participated in another Business Expo day. It was an all day event filled with presentations, card making and card challenges. There was a lot of learning and some great ideas shared by other demonstrators. I love these training days.

The cards we made all used the Frosted Gingerbread Bundle. The cards were designed by Allison Okamitsu who was the hostess of the training day. Here are the cards we made.

Card #1:

For Card #1 We started with a Flirty Flamingo card base. On top of this we added a piece of Basic White cardstock that was embossed with the snowflake folder from the Wintry 3D Embossing Folder set. On the portion that did not get embossed since the folder is only 3 3/8 inches wide, we added a strip of DSP from the Pattern Party DSP pack. This is a host item and is an amazing package of DSP. There is a coloured pattern on one side and a black and white pattern on the reverse side of every paper. We stamped the larger snowflake image using Bermuda Bay ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock. We then stamped it a second time without re-inking the stamp to give a second generation stamp. We cut these out using the corresponding die from the bundle. We added these snowflakes to the card front using dimensionals. We stamped the sentiment on a piece of Basic White cardstock using Flirty Flamingo ink and then punched it out using the Everyday Label Punch. This was also added using dimensionals. Finally, we stamped the candies stamp using Flirty Flamingo ink on Basic White cardstock and cut them out using the corresponding die. We added these using dimensionals.

Card #2:

For Card #2 we started with a Daffodil Delight card base. On top of that we added a piece of Pool Party cardstock. We stamped the small candy stamp randomly all around the outer edge of the Pool Party piece using Bermuda Bay ink. On the bottom edge of this piece we added a strip of the same DSP we used on Card #1. We cut out a piece of Basic White cardstock using the Stitched so Sweetly Dies. On the bottom portion of this die cut piece we stamped the sentiment using Flirty Flamingo ink. We added this piece to our card front using dimensionals. On another piece of Basic White cardstock, we stamped the bell image twice using Daffodil Delight ink. We cut them out using the corresponding die. These were attached to our sentiment piece using dimensionals. On the top of the bells, we added a bow that was tied using the White Glittered Organdy Ribbon. This was added using a glue dot.

Card #3:

For Card #3 we started with a Basic White Thick card base. On top of that we added a piece of Pool Party cardstock that was embossed using the polka dot embossing folder from the Checks & Dots Embossing Folder set. We added another strip of DSP from the Pattern Party DSP Package. We added the flourished die cut from the bundle that we cut out from Basic White cardstock. This was added along the edge of the DSP. We stamped the sentiment using Flirty Flamingo ink on Basic White cardstock and cut it out using the Tasteful Labels Dies. The sentiment was added to the card front using dimensionals. We cut out the ornament shape, the star and the bell from Flirty Flamingo, Bermuda Bay and Granny Apple Green cardstock. We cut out the corresponding detailed images of the three shapes using Basic White cardstock with an Adhesive Sheet attached to it. This made adding these images to the solid shapes so much easier. We added these shapes to the card front using dimensionals. We also added a bow tied from the White Glittered Organdy Ribbon. This was added to the top of the bell using a glue dot.

What I used for today's cards:

These cards are a good example of using nontraditional colours to create Christmas cards. I really love the designs but to be honest, I am a more traditional colour gal. I know that my grandchildren will love these cards though. Paisley always wants a pink card and Everett always wants orange. While his will not be orange, I think he will be happy with Pool Party.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed these cards. As I stated above, these designs were all from Allison Okamitsu and not at all by me. How do you feel about nontraditional colours? Do you use them in your card making or are you more traditional? I would love to know how you feel.

Stay well and keep creating!

On Stage at Home

Hello friends! This past weekend was On Stage at Home. We had our virtual "convention" rather than getting together in person this year. It has been two years since we have been able to have in person conventions and the last one was in Las Vegas. That was so much fun! This weekend was lots of fun too and we didn't have to travel anywhere. I'm not a fan of airplanes so if I don't have to get on one, I'm much happier.

We received a box of goodies the week before the event and were able to order a bundle that will be in the new January to June catalogue.  Demonstrators that did not take part in On Stage are not able to order this bundle yet. That bundle is called Blessings of Home and it is gorgeous. We used it to make the cards we made during the event. Here is a picture of me with my box of goodies and then a close up of the goodies before I opened everything up. I love that bag and the notebook with the coils on the top corner is brilliant!

We also received a PDF copy of the new January to June 2022 catalogue and the new Sale-a-bration catalogue. Of course, I am not allowed to share that with you. We are able to order some of the items in these catalogues, again even before other demonstrators that did not take part in On Stage. It is just one more little perk for going. If it was an in person event, we would have received a paper copy of the catalogues but this is the next best thing. There are lots of incredible things in the new catalogue and I can't wait to play with the things I have. Not only were we able to order new things ahead of everyone else, it is fun to be with our friends to stamp and see the presentations. We visited over Zoom on Thursday evening to watch the opening ceremony and see the achievements that our fellow demonstrators earned. I was fortunate to earn three badges again this past year. Huge thanks to my friends, customers and team for allowing me to earn recognition in Team Building, Leadership and Sales. I could not have done this without all of you so thank you again!

Here are the cards we made on the weekend. They were designed by Shannon West, a Stampin' Up! employee and demonstrator. I did pretty much exactly what she suggested. I only made a few tiny changes. Again, all three cards were made using the Blessings of Home bundle.

Card #1:

For Card #1, we stamped the large flower image on to a piece of Shimmery White cardstock using Misty Moonlight ink. We then used sponge daubers with Misty Moonlight and Garden Green ink to add colour to the flowers and leaves. This image is cut out using a corresponding die from the bundle. The DSP is from the new catalogue and is called Heart and Home DSP. It is a package of 12 X 12 papers with floral images on one side and wood plank images on the reverse of every page. The DSP is attached directly to a card base of Garden Green and the flower image is added on top of the DSP using dimensionals. The sentiment is stamped using Misty Moonlight ink on Shimmery White cardstock and is attached to the new Denim Ribbon. This is then added to the card front using dimensionals. The matte dots are also new. They are called Classic Matte Dots and come with 4 different colours in the package - Basic Black, Basic Gray, Very Vanilla and Basic White. Each colour also comes in 2 different sizes - small and large. I will be using many of these in the future.

Card #2:

For card #2 we cut a notecard size card base using Cinnamon Cider cardstock. We added another piece of DSP from the Heart and Home package. We stamped the flower image on a piece of Shimmery White cardstock using Cinnamon Cider ink. We used some of the other dies in the bundle to cut 2 sprays from Fresh Freesia cardstock, a leaf spray from Garden Green cardstock and three little flowers from Cinnamon Cider cardstock. These were all attached to the stamped flower image using Tombo multipurpose adhesive. We stamped the sentiment onto another piece of Shimmer White cardstock using Misty Moonlight ink and added this to the card front using dimensionals.

Card #3:

For card #3 we started with a card base of Fresh Freesia. We added another piece of DSP from the Heart and Home package directly to the card base. On top of the DSP we added 2 sprays that were cut from Cinnamon Cider cardstock using another die from the bundle. The sentiment is stamped on the reverse side of this DSP using Cinnamon Cider ink. This was added to the center of the card using dimensionals. To finish the card, we added three little flowers that were die cut from Fresh Freesia cardstock.

It can't be a Stampin' Up! event if we don't make cards so thank you to Shannon West for sharing these designs with us.

I won't be sharing the items used for these cards because the bundle is not available yet. It will be available to order on January 4th, 2022.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed these cards and a little sneak peek of some new items from the new catalogue.

Stay well and keep creating!

Thankful for You

Hello friends! This is another bonus blog post as I am taking part in my friend Angie's Stamping Inkspiration Blog Hop again. The theme for this month is "Thankful for You". There are 16 people taking part this month so grab a cup of tea, sit back and check out all of the posts for some amazing inspiration.

I decided to make a card for a friend to let her know how glad I am that she is part of my circle. I know that she is there for me always. I've had a lot going on this past month and when I get overwhelmed I tend to cocoon and shut myself off. She is the kind of friend that knows that and makes sure I'm okay. That is something that you don't find in everyone but I definitely appreciate it. Here is my card:

I used the Eden's Garden stamp set again. I LOVE this set so much! I started with a piece of Basic White cardstock that I stamped images randomly all over it. I started with the larger leaf image and stamped it using Mossy Meadow ink. The next size leaf, I stamped using Pear Pizzazz ink. I stamped the next leaf image using Sahara Sand ink. All three of the leaf images are from the Eden's Garden stamp set. I let the ink dry really well and then stamped the splotch image from the Beauty of Friendship stamp set using Versamark ink. I added gold embossing powder from the Metallics Embossing Powder set and used my heat tool to melt it. The final image I added was the tiny leaf from the Hydrangea Haven stamp set. I stamped it using Petal Pink ink. I love doing this technique of creating my own background. You start with the larger image and go down in size to the smallest image. I matted this stamped piece on top of a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock.

I used a die from the Tasteful Labels Dies set to cut out the mat layer for my sentiment piece. I used Gray Granite cardstock for this piece. I then used the same die and traced the inside of the die on a piece of Basic White cardstock using a pencil. I cut out this piece using my paper snips. I then stamped my sentiment from the Pretty Pumpkins stamp set using Mossy Meadow ink. I layered the stamped piece onto the Gray Granite piece and it matched up perfectly.

I wrapped a piece of Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon around my card front and secured it at the back. I then added this to a Gray Granite card base using dimensionals. I added my sentiment over top of the ribbon using dimensionals.

To complete my card, I added some die cut leaves using the smaller die from the Eden's Garden Bundle. I used Mossy Meadow and Gray Granite cardstock and Gold Foil Sheets to cut out these leaves. I added them just under my sentiment piece in the top right and lower left corners.

What I used for today's card:

Eden's Garden Bundle

Beauty of Friendship Stamp

Hydrangea Haven Stamp

Pretty Pumpkins Stamp

Eden Dies

Tasteful Label Dies

Gray Granite Cardstock

Mossy Meadow Cardstock

Basic White Cardstock

Gold Foil Sheets

Mossy Meadow Classic Stampin' Pad

Sahara Sand Classic Stampin' Pad

Petal Pink Classic Stampin' Pad

Versamark Pad

Metallics Embossing Powders

Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card. I hope my friend enjoys this card. I know she reads my blog faithfully so thank you my friend for keeping tabs on me when I disappear into myself!

Poinsettia Petals

Hello friends! It is that time of year when all of us card makers are busy making Christmas cards. I don't think I am alone in this adventure. My daughter's baby shower is coming up later this month so I will have to make another baby card but primarily it is Christmas cards on my crafting table.

Today's card was one I had been thinking about for a while. Years ago, I received a beautiful poinsettia plant that was the most gorgeous cream colour with reddish pink in the center. I have not seen one as beautiful ever since.

I started with a card base of Very Vanilla Thick cardstock. On top of that I added a piece of Real Red cardstock that I embossed using the Wintry 3D Embossing Folder. This embossing folder is a set of 2 - one is snowflakes and the other is pine boughs. I used the pine boughs one on this card. It is also a narrow folder so I needed to run it through twice to emboss the entire piece of cardstock.

I thought I would try using the Pearlescent Specialty paper to make the flower. I stamped the three different sized flower images from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set using Versamark ink. I added gold embossing powder from the Metallics set and heated it to melt using my heat tool. I then used the corresponding dies from the Poinsettia Dies set to cut out the images. I used a sponge dauber to add some Real Red ink to the centers of the flowers. I am really pleased with how it turned out. The Pearlescent paper is so sparkly and pretty. I layered the three images on top of each other and attached them together using Tombo multipurpose glue. I added this flower to my card front using dimensionals. I used the leaf dies to cut out two leaves from some Garden Green cardstock. I added these to my card front using Tombo multipurpose adhesive.

Here is a close-up of the pearlescent paper flower. It is kind of hard to see how sparkly it is but in real life it is very glittery.

I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using Versamark ink on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. I added gold embossing powder and heated it to melt. Once it had cooled, I used the label die from the Seasonal Labels Dies set to cut it out. I added this to my card front using dimensionals.

To complete the card, I added three of the red jewels from the Wonderful Gems set to the center of my poinsettia. These gems come with two colours in the package - red with gold sparkles and clear with gold sparkles. They are so pretty!

What I used for today's card:

Poinsettia Petals Stamp Set

Poinsettia Dies

Seasonal Labels Dies

Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock

Pearlescent Specialty Paper

Garden Green Cardstock

Real Red Cardstock

Very Vanilla Cardstock

Metallics Embossing Powders

Wintry 3D Embossing Folders

Real Red Classic Stampin' Pad

Versamark Pad

Wonderful Gems

Heat Tool

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card. I don't know who will be receiving this one as I haven't started writing my cards yet. They were saying on the news that if you want your cards to arrive on time this year, you will need to get them in the mail really early. That is always hard for me since I am always last minute Lucy with my Christmas cards. I will have to set a goal to get them done earlier this year. Are you the early person or are you late like me?

Stay well and keep creating!

Team Mystery Card

Hello friends! How is it possible that it is already November? Next month will be Christmas. I cannot believe it. This week is On Stage at Home so I will be attending that virtually later this week. The last time we went to a live On Stage event was two years ago when we went to Las Vegas. That was so much fun! I am thankful that we are able to still have these events even if they are a little different. I will share more from this event after the weekend.

Today's card is a mystery card that we made at our virtual team meeting last week. We were given the measurements of cardstock and DSP to cut and have ready for the meeting and had to come up with a card. It is amazing how different all of the cards were. The dimensions we were given is a regular A2 card base (either 8.5 X 5.5 or 4.25 X 11), a piece of cardstock measuring 2.75 X 4 and a piece of DSP measuring 0.75 X 4.5. We were also told to have a piece of cardstock for our sentiment and any embellishments we wanted to add. This is the card I came up with.

I started with a card base of Evening Evergreen. I used Soft Succulent cardstock for my second piece of cardstock. I embossed it using the Wintry 3D Embossing Folder. This embossing folder set has 2 embossing folders. I used the one with the pine boughs on it. I attached this piece to the center of my card base using adhesive. I added my strip of DSP on top of my embossed cardstock. The DSP I used is from the new Eden's Garden Bundle. The DSP is called Ever Eden Specialty DSP and it is gorgeous!

I stamped my sentiment from the Forever Grapevine stamp set using Versamark ink on Basic White cardstock. I added gold embossing powder from the Metallics Collection and heated it to melt using my heat tool. Once it had cooled, I cut it out using the die from the Grapevine Dies set. I added my sentiment piece to the center of my card using dimensionals.

To finish off my card, I added a bow that I tied using the Evening Evergreen Open Weave ribbon. I attached it to the lower left "corner" of my sentiment piece using a glue dot. Then to complete the card, I added a few of the Evening Evergreen gems from the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels.

What I used for today's card:

Evening Evergreen Cardstock

Soft Succulent Cardstock

Basic White Cardstock

Ever Eden Specialty Designer Series Paper

Forever Grapevine Stamp

Grapevine Dies

Versamark Pad

Metallics Embossing Powders

Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon

Heat Tool

2021-2023 In Color Jewels

Wintry 3D Embossing Folders

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card. Have you tried making a card from a sketch? I really enjoy the challenge of doing something like this. You never know what you will end up with. Generally mine are completely different from what I thought they would be. I challenge you to give it a try.

Stay well and keep creating!

All For Baby

Hello my friends! I needed to make another baby card. My friend's daughter and her husband had a baby boy a couple of weeks ago. I was waiting to find out if there was going to be a get-together to meet the baby but they have decided not to have anything at this time. I figured I better get her card and presents to her before the baby outgrows what I have made him.

For the card, I used the All For Baby Bundle. It is such a cute stamp set and there are SO many dies with the set.

I started by stamping the clothesline across the top of a piece of Basic White cardstock using Basic Gray ink. I used Crumb Cake ink to stamp the clothespins.  Above the clothesline, I stamped the sentiment using Basic Gray ink.

On another piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the onesie image three times using Pool Party, So Saffron and Balmy Blue ink. I used the coordinating die to cut these out. I added the onesies to the card using dimensionals. It looks like they are hanging from the clothesline.

I matted my stamped piece on a piece of Pool Party cardstock and then added that to a card base of Balmy Blue.

This is a more simple card than I usually make but I am thrilled with how it turned out. I am sure that my friend's daughter will love it as well.

What I used for today's card:

All For Baby Bundle

Balmy Blue Cardstock

Pool Party Cardstock

Basic White Cardstock

Balmy Blue Classic Stampin' Pad

Pool Party Classic Stampin' Pad

So Saffron Classic Stampin' Pad

Basic Gray Classic Stampin' Pad

Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' Pad

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I am really excited for the new baby. It is wonderful that they had a baby boy this time as they also have a little girl who turned 2 in May. She is absolutely thrilled with her baby brother. I hope they like the card and the gifts that I made for him.

Here is a picture of the sweater and blanket that I knitted for the baby.

Eden's Garden Birthday Card

Hello my friends!

Today's card is a birthday card for a good friend who's birthday is on Halloween. When I first found out that her birthday was then I thought it would be so fun to celebrate your birthday on Halloween. But then she informed me how it was not so wonderful. All of her early birthdays, her friends would rather go out trick or treating rather than coming to a birthday party. The theme for her parties was always Halloween and that gets old quickly. I think it must be like having your birthday close to Christmas. I like to make her a card that is not at all Halloweenish.

I used the new Eden's Garden Bundle again. I think you are definitely going to want this one when it comes available on November 2nd.

I started with a card base of Evening Evergreen. On top of that I added a piece of Soft Succulent cardstock. I stamped one of the leaf images from the Eden's Garden stamp set using Evening Evergreen ink. I stamped the image randomly all over the cardstock. Once it was dry, I added a piece of vellum. The vellum is the same size as the Soft Succulent cardstock. To add the vellum and make sure there was no adhesive showing, I used my finger to spread a very thin layer of Tombo multipurpose adhesive over the entire piece of vellum. I used the large leafy die to cut the oval shaped wreath out of a Gold Foil sheet. I added this directly on top of the vellum sheet.

For my sentiment piece, I used one of the dies from the Hippo & Friends Dies set. First I cut out the mat piece from a piece of Evening Evergreen cardstock. I used a piece of Basic White cardstock for my sentiment. I wanted it to be a little bigger than the size of the next smaller die so I created it myself. I used the same die that I used to cut out the Evening Evergreen mat piece. I laid the die onto a piece of Basic White cardstock and traced inside the die with a pencil. I used my paper snips to cut it out and it was the perfect size. I stamped my sentiment using Versamark ink onto my Basic White piece of cardstock. I then added Gold Embossing powder from the Metallics Embossing Powder set. I heated it to melt using my Heat Tool. The sentiment was from the Peaceful Moments Stamp set. I added my sentiment piece to the card front using dimensionals.

To finish off my card, I added a bow that I tied using a piece of Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon. I attached it to the card front in the upper left corner of my sentiment piece using a glue dot.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card. I hope my friend likes it as there is nothing Halloween about it. One good thing about having your birthday on a special date like that is that your friends will always remember what day your birthday is. Even though this is posting after her birthday, her card was sent well before the special day.

Stay well and keep creating!
