Hello my friends!
Today's card is a birthday card for a good friend who's birthday is on Halloween. When I first found out that her birthday was then I thought it would be so fun to celebrate your birthday on Halloween. But then she informed me how it was not so wonderful. All of her early birthdays, her friends would rather go out trick or treating rather than coming to a birthday party. The theme for her parties was always Halloween and that gets old quickly. I think it must be like having your birthday close to Christmas. I like to make her a card that is not at all Halloweenish.
I used the new Eden's Garden Bundle again. I think you are definitely going to want this one when it comes available on November 2nd.
I started with a card base of Evening Evergreen. On top of that I added a piece of Soft Succulent cardstock. I stamped one of the leaf images from the Eden's Garden stamp set using Evening Evergreen ink. I stamped the image randomly all over the cardstock. Once it was dry, I added a piece of vellum. The vellum is the same size as the Soft Succulent cardstock. To add the vellum and make sure there was no adhesive showing, I used my finger to spread a very thin layer of Tombo multipurpose adhesive over the entire piece of vellum. I used the large leafy die to cut the oval shaped wreath out of a Gold Foil sheet. I added this directly on top of the vellum sheet.
For my sentiment piece, I used one of the dies from the Hippo & Friends Dies set. First I cut out the mat piece from a piece of Evening Evergreen cardstock. I used a piece of Basic White cardstock for my sentiment. I wanted it to be a little bigger than the size of the next smaller die so I created it myself. I used the same die that I used to cut out the Evening Evergreen mat piece. I laid the die onto a piece of Basic White cardstock and traced inside the die with a pencil. I used my paper snips to cut it out and it was the perfect size. I stamped my sentiment using Versamark ink onto my Basic White piece of cardstock. I then added Gold Embossing powder from the Metallics Embossing Powder set. I heated it to melt using my Heat Tool. The sentiment was from the Peaceful Moments Stamp set. I added my sentiment piece to the card front using dimensionals.
To finish off my card, I added a bow that I tied using a piece of Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon. I attached it to the card front in the upper left corner of my sentiment piece using a glue dot.
What I used for today's card:
Evening Evergreen Classic Stampin' Pad
Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon
Eden's Garden Bundle (available November 2nd)
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card. I hope my friend likes it as there is nothing Halloween about it. One good thing about having your birthday on a special date like that is that your friends will always remember what day your birthday is. Even though this is posting after her birthday, her card was sent well before the special day.
Stay well and keep creating!
Terry
The more I see of Eden's Garden, the more tempting it becomes!
