Hello friends! How is it possible that it is already November? Next month will be Christmas. I cannot believe it. This week is On Stage at Home so I will be attending that virtually later this week. The last time we went to a live On Stage event was two years ago when we went to Las Vegas. That was so much fun! I am thankful that we are able to still have these events even if they are a little different. I will share more from this event after the weekend.
Today's card is a mystery card that we made at our virtual team meeting last week. We were given the measurements of cardstock and DSP to cut and have ready for the meeting and had to come up with a card. It is amazing how different all of the cards were. The dimensions we were given is a regular A2 card base (either 8.5 X 5.5 or 4.25 X 11), a piece of cardstock measuring 2.75 X 4 and a piece of DSP measuring 0.75 X 4.5. We were also told to have a piece of cardstock for our sentiment and any embellishments we wanted to add. This is the card I came up with.
I started with a card base of Evening Evergreen. I used Soft Succulent cardstock for my second piece of cardstock. I embossed it using the Wintry 3D Embossing Folder. This embossing folder set has 2 embossing folders. I used the one with the pine boughs on it. I attached this piece to the center of my card base using adhesive. I added my strip of DSP on top of my embossed cardstock. The DSP I used is from the new Eden's Garden Bundle. The DSP is called Ever Eden Specialty DSP and it is gorgeous!
I stamped my sentiment from the Forever Grapevine stamp set using Versamark ink on Basic White cardstock. I added gold embossing powder from the Metallics Collection and heated it to melt using my heat tool. Once it had cooled, I cut it out using the die from the Grapevine Dies set. I added my sentiment piece to the center of my card using dimensionals.
To finish off my card, I added a bow that I tied using the Evening Evergreen Open Weave ribbon. I attached it to the lower left "corner" of my sentiment piece using a glue dot. Then to complete the card, I added a few of the Evening Evergreen gems from the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels.
What I used for today's card:
Ever Eden Specialty Designer Series Paper
Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card. Have you tried making a card from a sketch? I really enjoy the challenge of doing something like this. You never know what you will end up with. Generally mine are completely different from what I thought they would be. I challenge you to give it a try.
Stay well and keep creating!
Terry
