Thankful for You

Hello friends! This is another bonus blog post as I am taking part in my friend Angie's Stamping Inkspiration Blog Hop again. The theme for this month is "Thankful for You". There are 16 people taking part this month so grab a cup of tea, sit back and check out all of the posts for some amazing inspiration.

I decided to make a card for a friend to let her know how glad I am that she is part of my circle. I know that she is there for me always. I've had a lot going on this past month and when I get overwhelmed I tend to cocoon and shut myself off. She is the kind of friend that knows that and makes sure I'm okay. That is something that you don't find in everyone but I definitely appreciate it. Here is my card:

I used the Eden's Garden stamp set again. I LOVE this set so much! I started with a piece of Basic White cardstock that I stamped images randomly all over it. I started with the larger leaf image and stamped it using Mossy Meadow ink. The next size leaf, I stamped using Pear Pizzazz ink. I stamped the next leaf image using Sahara Sand ink. All three of the leaf images are from the Eden's Garden stamp set. I let the ink dry really well and then stamped the splotch image from the Beauty of Friendship stamp set using Versamark ink. I added gold embossing powder from the Metallics Embossing Powder set and used my heat tool to melt it. The final image I added was the tiny leaf from the Hydrangea Haven stamp set. I stamped it using Petal Pink ink. I love doing this technique of creating my own background. You start with the larger image and go down in size to the smallest image. I matted this stamped piece on top of a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock.

I used a die from the Tasteful Labels Dies set to cut out the mat layer for my sentiment piece. I used Gray Granite cardstock for this piece. I then used the same die and traced the inside of the die on a piece of Basic White cardstock using a pencil. I cut out this piece using my paper snips. I then stamped my sentiment from the Pretty Pumpkins stamp set using Mossy Meadow ink. I layered the stamped piece onto the Gray Granite piece and it matched up perfectly.

I wrapped a piece of Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon around my card front and secured it at the back. I then added this to a Gray Granite card base using dimensionals. I added my sentiment over top of the ribbon using dimensionals.

To complete my card, I added some die cut leaves using the smaller die from the Eden's Garden Bundle. I used Mossy Meadow and Gray Granite cardstock and Gold Foil Sheets to cut out these leaves. I added them just under my sentiment piece in the top right and lower left corners.
