Hello friends! I hope you are all doing well. We had the most amazing weekend! Our daughter gave birth on Friday morning to the most precious little angel. I am so in love with her! Peyton Presley arrived on January 14 to a family that has been waiting for this moment for years. Here is a picture of her and me as soon as she got home from the hospital.
Today's card was created for our Canadian head of Stampin' Up!, Dale. I may have mentioned that I was part of a group helping Canadian demonstrators called Team Canada. One of the other Team Canada groups created an online recognition program called Stampin' Stones. You can earn a badge by doing different things. One of them is the Creator Badge. I earned that by sharing some cards I created along with the PDF instructions for those cards. Each week, anyone who earns a Stampin' Stones badge gets their name put in a draw to win a free stamp set from Dale. My name was chosen this particular week so of course, I need to send a thank you card!
I wanted to try the Amazing Silhouettes stamp set as I thought it would work for a masculine card. I have to be honest, I wasn't crazy about this stamp when I first got it. I received it as part of my On Stage at Home registration and I don't think it is one that I would have chosen myself. However, I have seen different ideas on the internet and I am completely re-thinking this one. I am really liking it now!
I went with a simpler design and a monochromatic theme for today's card. I started with a piece of Basic White cardstock. I stamped the larger tree image from the stamp set using Evening Evergreen ink. I also stamped my sentiment on the same piece of cardstock using the same ink. My sentiment is from the Shaded Summer stamp set. After stamping, I matted my piece on a piece of Evening Evergreen cardstock. I wrapped a piece of Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon around this piece and tied it into a knot. I added this piece to a Basic White Thick card base using dimensionals. To finish off my card, I added a few 2021-2023 In Colour Jewels in Evening Evergreen colour.
What I used for today's card:
Evening Evergreen Classic Stampin' Pad
Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card. I also hope Dale enjoys it. Have you ever had a stamp like this where you don't like it at first but then you did? I have had this another time and the stamp turned out to be one of my favourites. This stamp set could be just like that. And how adorable is my new granddaughter? Thanks for indulging me.
Stay well and keep creating!
Terry
