Hello friends! How is your 2022 going so far? At least it has warmed up. I did not enjoy the minus 20 degrees we were having.
Today's card was created with a new set from the new January to June 2022 catalogue. It is called Blessings of Home. I wanted to make this card for the gal that organized the business expo's that I have participated in. There is going to be another one in January but I am not able to take part in this one unfortunately. My daughter is due to have her baby and I have too much other stuff going on.
I started by stamping the flower image on a piece of Basic White cardstock using Black Staz On ink. I coloured in the flower using Watercolour Pencils. The colours I used are Flirty Flamingo and Daffodil Delight for the flowers and Garden Green for the leaves and stems. I then used a Blender Pen to blend the colours in. It is not recommended to use regular cardstock for water colouring but since I was not applying a lot of pressure and only using my Blender Pen it worked out well. I also added some Wink of Stella to the flowers to give it a little more pizzazz. It's hard to see in the picture but it is there. I matted my stamped image on a piece of Basic Black cardstock. I added this to a piece of So Saffron cardstock that I cut out using the Stitched so Sweetly Dies.
I coloured a piece of White Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon using my So Saffron Stampin' Blend. I wrapped it around the stamped piece and tied it into a knot.
I used a So Saffron card base. On top of that I added a piece of Basic White cardstock that I embossed using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing folder. I matted this on a piece of Basic Black cardstock. I added my stamped piece to the card front using dimensionals.
I stamped my sentiment from the Pansy Patch stamp set using Black Staz On ink on a strip of Basic White cardstock. I cut a banner cut into both edges of my strip of cardstock and added this to my card using adhesive along the top edge of the strip of cardstock and half dimensionals on the bottom edge.
What I used for today's card:
White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card. I think I needed some bright, Spring colours after doing so many Christmas cards. I hope Allison enjoys it.
Stay well and keep creating!
Terry
