On the Horizon

Hello friends! How are you all doing? It has been a couple of days since we have had any snow so the city is getting caught up on clearing the roads. It is much nicer to be able to drive on a clear road with no ice. Being stuck at home has given me time to catch up on designing cards for my stamp group and for the Crafting at the Lake Event. I'm so excited that we are able to go ahead with this event! We have to have fewer people than we had last time but at least we are able to do it. If you would like to come, let me know.

Today's card was made for my chiropractor. He is an amazing chiropractor but he is not a fan of cards. Well to be clear, he doesn't like store bought cards. When he found out what I do he had to clarify that. I made a Christmas card for him and he was thrilled. I was supposed to have an appointment last week but the office called to cancel because he was sick. He is still home sick so I thought I would make him a card to cheer him up.

I started with a small piece of Basic White cardstock. I used my Blending Brushes to add colour. I added Balmy Blue ink to the top two thirds of the cardstock. Below that, I added a blend of Garden Green and Crumb Cake. After that, I stamped the grasses image from the On the Horizon set using Crumb Cake ink. I also stamped the seagulls image from the same set using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I matted this piece on a piece of Basic Black cardstock.

On another, larger piece of Basic White cardstock I stamped my sentiment (from the Timeless Tulips stamp set) using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I then embossed this piece using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. I matted this onto another piece of Basic Black cardstock. I wrapped a piece of Linen Thread around this piece a few times and then tied it into a knot.

I added my embossed piece to a Balmy Blue card base using dimensionals. I then added my stamped piece on top of the embossed piece using dimensionals and that completed my card.

What I used for today's card:

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card and I hope my chiropractor enjoys it. Hopefully he will be feeling better soon. Do you make cards for your chiropractor or vet or someone else like that? I think it is nice to share our creations.

Stay well and keep creating!

Terry
