Artfully Layered

Hello friends! I hope you enjoyed all of the cards that we created for the Crafting at the Lake Event. I have a couple more bonus cards to share with you but I wanted to share a couple of other cards first.

I recently ordered the Butterflies and Flowers Masks set so I had to have a play with them. I used the mask that has the vine shapes.

I placed a piece of Basic White cardstock on my work table and used a small dot of Stampin' Seal on the back to secure it to my work area. I then attached my mask over top of my cardstock and secured it to my work table using some washi tape. I wanted to be sure that the mask didn't move at all.

I used my Blending Brush to add ink to my cardstock. I started with Pear Pizzazz, then Just Jade and finally Evening Evergreen. When I removed the mask, this beautiful gradient of green vines was revealed. It is absolutely beautiful. I think it looks like it could be DSP. I matted this with a piece of Evening Evergreen cardstock and added it to my card base using dimensionals. I used a Basic White Thick card base.

I added some leaves that I cut out using the dies from the Artfully Layered Bundle. The die set is called Tropical Layers Dies. I cut one leaf each out of Pear Pizzazz, Just Jade and Evening Evergreen cardstock. I added these leaves to my card front using adhesive so that the stems would join in the center.

Over top of where the stems met up, I added a piece of White Frayed Ribbon. I used my Take Your Pick Tool to completely fray the ends of the ribbon. I attached the ribbon to my card using Tear and Tape. I wanted to be sure the ribbon would stay stuck and wanted to make sure that it only frayed to the point that I wanted it to fray to.

On another piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped my sentiment from the same set using Evening Evergreen ink. I cut it out using a die from the Hippo & Friends Dies set. I am so sad that this die set is retiring this year. If you are thinking about it and don't have it yet, I would recommend ordering it sooner than later. I added the sentiment on top my Frayed White Ribbon using dimensionals. I added a bow to the sentiment piece using a glue dot. The bow was tied using a piece of the white frayed ribbon. This is the piece that I pulled out of the ribbon to make it fray. It was just too pretty to throw it out so I used it to make my bow.

Here is a close up picture of the frayed ribbon and the bow using the removed piece of ribbon.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card. It was a lot of fun to make. I love using the masks to add colour to my cards. There are so many ways to use the masks. I will have to keep sharing ideas with you.

Stay well and keep creating!

Terry
