Hello friends! It is time for our monthly Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop. The challenge for this month is a Fun Fold. There are 23 of us taking part this month and I know that I am excited to see what everyone comes up with.
I decided to do a special card for my Mother-in-law. Today is her 91st birthday. We aren't allowed to visit with her today but hopefully we will be able to see her soon. Her assisted living home was flooded in January and they have had to completely redo two floors of the building. All of the residents were moved out to another home but it is a two and a half hour drive away now. With restrictions visits are not always what we want them to be.
The card I made is a Pop and Twist card. I'm sure it goes by other names but this is what I was told it is when I learned it.
I started with a Basic White Thick card base. On top of that I added a piece of DSP from the Expressions in Ink DSP pack. I matted the DSP with a piece of Magenta Madness cardstock and attached this directly to my card base.
I stamped my sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp in Evening Evergreen ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock. I cut my sentiment out using a die from the Stitched so Sweetly Dies set. I cut out the next larger die from some Magenta Madness cardstock. I attached the two pieces together with adhesive and added this to my card front using dimensionals. I added a bow that I tied using a piece of Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon.
The inside of this card is where all of the action is. I added some Magenta Madness cardstock to the inside of my card. I also used Magenta Madness cardstock to make the pop and twist mechanism and the base for the pieces that do the popping and twisting.
I stamped the flowers from the Artistically Inked stamp set onto some Basic White cardstock and added these pieces to the Magenta Madness base. The colours I used are Magenta Madness and Pale Papaya for the flowers and Just Jade for the leaves.
I added a piece of Basic White cardstock to the bottom inside of the card and stamped it with another sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set using Evening Evergreen ink. This is also a space where we can sign the card.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed my card. I'm sure my Mother-in-law will like it. She loves bold colours and will like the movement of the card. Click on the "Next Blog" button and head to Jan Musselman's blog.
Stay well and keep creating!
