Sending Smiles

Hello friends! Are you all ready for a long weekend? I am not doing anything too exciting but I do get to look after my little angel. Her Mom and Dad want to do some adult things so I get to hang with her. Talk about a win win situation! I will share some pictures next time if Mom says I can.

Tomorrow also starts the new Mini Catalogue and Sale-a-bration! If you need a catalogue and haven't received one yet, just let me know and I will make sure you get one.

Today's card is another creation from Susanne for our Crafting at the Lake Event.

She used the Sending Smiles Bundle. This was the first time I had a chance to play with this set and I love it! I also love the colour combination Su chose for this card.

I started with a piece of Basic White cardstock. I stamped the "Birthday Wishes" image in the upper center of the cardstock using Old Olive ink. Then I stamped the flower images repeatedly all over the cardstock. I stamped the larger flower using So Saffron ink, the smaller flower using Calypso Coral ink, the leaf image using Old Olive and the flower centers using Pumpkin Pie and Calypso Coral ink. I matted this piece on a piece of Gray Granite cardstock and added this to a card base of So Saffron.

I used the coordinating dies to cut out the word "Sending". I used the outlining die to cut it out of So Saffron cardstock. I cut out the detailed word out of Basic White cardstock with adhesive sheet stuck to it. I added the detailed word to the outlined word and added it to the card front just above the stamped words using dimensionals.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card. I think the colour combination of So Saffron with Gray Granite is absolutely gorgeous. I will definitely be trying this again.

Happy Canada Day!

Happiness Abounds

Hello friends! I hope you are enjoying this amazing summer weather. I still can't go out into the sun. It seems this antibiotic either makes me burn to a crisp or I get hives from the sun. After my walk on Thursday with my granddaughter, I got home and noticed I was super itchy and full of hives. If anyone has any advice for me on this, please leave me a comment. It might be a long summer.....

So on to today's card. This is another one of my creations for our Crafting at the Lake Event. I used the Happiness Abounds Bundle.

I started by stamping my sentiment along the bottom edge of a piece of Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I stamped the larger flower towards the top of the piece of cardstock. I then  stamped the leaf image twice attaching it to the flower. I used Stampin' Blends to colour in the flower and the leaves. I used Petal Pink and So Saffron for the flower and Soft Sea Foam for the leaves. I matted this piece onto a piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock. I tied a piece of Petal Pink Polyester ribbon around these pieces and tied it into a knot. This ribbon is absolutely amazing! It is so soft and pretty and ties very easily. I would seriously love a blanket or sweater made out of this ribbon.

I used the dotted edging die from the bundle to cut this fun edge on a piece of Petal Pink cardstock. I attached the above pieces to the Petal Pink cardstock using Tombo Multipurpose glue. I attached this all to a Basic White Thick card base at an angle for fun. To complete my card, I added a few Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card. I really love the combination of Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam together.

Biggest Wish

Hello friends! Hope you are all enjoying our new season. Now that summer has officially arrived, our weather has improved. I'm good with that!

Today I went up to my daughter's to go for a walk with her and my grandbaby. It was perfect weather - not too hot and not too cool. I had my SPF 50 on and didn't get a burn so that is a good thing!

Today's card is another creation from Susanne for our Crafting at the Lake Event.

She used the Biggest Wish stamp set. This is a fairly simple design that really adds a wow factor.

I started by stamping the biggest "happy" sentiment at an angle on a piece of Basic White cardstock. I first stamped it in the top left corner using Parakeet Party ink. I stamped the image at the very top so that the entire image did not fit and went off the sides. I stamped the image repeatedly below the first image using different colours of ink making sure to clean the stamp between colours. I used Smoky Slate, Bermuda Bay, Fresh Freesia and Parakeet Party to stamp the image. Once the entire piece of cardstock was filled with rows of "happy" in different colours, I added it to a card base of Bermuda Bay.

On another strip of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the "happy" again using Smoky Slate ink. I stamped the "birthday" sentiment using the other font image and using Bermuda Bay ink. I stamped it so that it stamped through part of the "happy". Once the ink was dry, I went over the "happy" using Wink of Stella. It probably doesn't show well in the picture but it adds a little something to the card by being just a bit sparkly. I added this strip to the card front using dimensionals.

That is the whole card. I love this idea of repeating an image and using the different colours just adds so much more to it.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I did.

Stay well and keep creating!

Waves of Inspiration

Hello friends! I hope you are all staying dry with all of the flooding we are seeing here. We are fine up here. There are underground streams all over Black Mountain but so far we are doing great.

Today's card is another one of Susanne's creation for the Crafting at the Lake Event. This is such a beautiful card using the Waves of Inspiration Bundle.

I started with a piece of Basic White cardstock that I cut out using a die from the Stitched Rectangles Set. I attached this to a piece of grid paper using a strip of Masking Paper. I used a Blending Brush to add Tahitian Tide ink to the bottom third of the cardstock. I removed the Masking Paper and added more Tahitian Tide ink to the top two thirds of the cardstock. I added lighter ink at the top so the lower portion would appear like the ocean. Using the Masking Paper created a distinct horizon line. I used the straw from the Stampin' Spritzer bottle to added some water droplets to the ocean. I set this aside to dry while I worked on the rest of the card.

On a Tahitian Tide card base, I added a piece of Basic White cardstock that I embossed using the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder.

On another piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the image of the pelican sitting on a piling using Crumb Cake ink. I cut it out using the corresponding die from the Bundle. I used a Pale Papaya Stampin' Blends to colour the pelican's beak and legs.

I stamped the sentiment using Starry Sky ink on a small piece of Basic White cardstock. I then cut it out using the label die from the Bundle. I trimmed off the outer edges of the label die using my paper snips. I also used the cloud dies from the Bundle to cut out two clouds from some Basic White cardstock.

Once the water droplets were dry, I stamped three sea gulls using Starry Sky ink. Then I was able to assemble the card. I added the Stitched Rectangle piece to the card front using dimensionals. Then I added the pelican image to the ocean part using dimensionals. I added the clouds and the sentiment using adhesive.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed the card. I think it is gorgeous!

Grassy Grove

Hello friends! I know I keep talking about the amount of rain we've had but it has been a very strange year. We finally get a nice day and we all get excited thinking that Spring has finally arrived and then we get two days of solid rain. Now parts of the city are flooding again! I hope everyone is safe out there.

Today's card is another one of my creations for our Crafting at the Lake Event. I used the Grassy Grove Bundle for this card.

I started by stamping the two trees image on a piece of Basic White cardstock using Shaded Spruce ink. I stamped it a second time without re-inking. I then stamped the grasses image along the bottom of the cardstock using Old Olive ink. I had to stamp it a couple times to cover the entire piece of cardstock.

I punched out a circle from a Post-It Note using a retired one inch circle punch. I don't like to use retired products but it was the perfect size for what I needed. I added the circle to the top right corner of the cardstock. Using the Blending Brushes, I added ink to the cardstock. I started with Night of Navy at the top of the picture and then Calypso Coral towards the bottom. I also added some Tuxedo Black Memento ink very lightly where the two colours met. I removed the Post-It Note circle and added some more Calypso Coral ink where it was.

I matted this piece onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock. I added a piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock to a Basic White Thick card base. I added my matted, stamped piece to the card front using adhesive.

I stamped my sentiment using Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a small piece of Basic White cardstock. The sentiment is from the Hello Ladybug stamp set. I cut a banner into the right edge of my sentiment piece and added it to my card using dimensionals.

To complete the card, I added a small deer to stand in the grasses. I used the Groves Dies which are part of the bundle and cut it out of Soft Suede cardstock. I attached it using regular adhesive. I think it completes the card perfectly.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card.

Stay well and keep creating!
