August Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

Hello friends! I have loved this month's Paper Pumpkin so much I just couldn't stop playing with it. I have so many more ideas floating around in my head that I really wish I had ordered two of this one. I think I mentioned in my last post that there are no refills available. It was hugely popular and I'm sure you can see why.

Here is the first alternative I made:

The card front is one of the card bases from the kit that I cut down. The back of this card base is also gorgeous. I will definitely be using it to make another card. I stamped my sentiment directly onto the card front using Blackberry Bliss ink. The stamp is from the Pansy Patch stamp set. I matted this card front onto a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock and then attached it to a card base of Basic White Thick.

I stamped the sunflower stamp from the kit on a piece of Basic White cardstock using Blackberry Bliss ink. I stamped it off once so it wasn't so dark. I inked up the stamp a second time and stamped it again after turning the stamp a quarter turn. I stamped it off once as well. I stamped the center portion of the flower using Soft Suede ink stamped off once. I fussy cut this flower using my paper snips. Fussy cutting is not my favourite thing to do but it was actually pretty easy. I added the flower to my card front using dimensionals.

I then added three of the little bees from the kit using dimensionals. That completes the first card.

The next two cards I made used the envelopes as DSP. The envelopes in this kit are absolutely beautiful and I think they are too pretty to be used just as envelopes. Here is a picture of the envelope.

Here is the second alternative I made:

This is a fairly simple card but the envelope DSP makes it so pretty.

I cut down the envelope and matted it on a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock. I added it to a card base of Basic White Thick cardstock using dimensionals.

On a small piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped my sentiment from the kit using Blackberry Bliss ink. I cut it out using a die from the Harvest Dies set.

I added a small piece of the gold honeycomb foil sheet to my card front using glue dots. I added my sentiment over top of the gold foil using dimensionals.

Here is the third alternative I made:

I started with a card base of Mossy Meadow. On top of that, I added a piece of Basic White cardstock.

I used the envelope as DSP again for this card. I cut it into three strips and matted the strips onto strips of Blackberry Bliss cardstock. I added the strips to my card front using dimensionals.

I stamped my sentiment on a strip of Basic White cardstock using Blackberry Bliss ink. I used the Banners Pick a Punch to cut a banner into each side of the cardstock. I matted the sentiment onto a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock that I also cut banners into each side using the punch. I added the sentiment directly to the card front. Again, this is a more simple card but the envelope DSP makes it beautiful.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed these cards. I have a lot more ideas for alternatives for this kit. Paper Pumpkin kits are definitely a good investment, even if you make the cards exactly as the directions state.

Stay well and keep creating!

Terry
