Dragonfly Garden

Hello friends! As you are reading this, we are just back from the lake. We took the week off to go hang out in our little piece of paradise. I should share some pictures of my happy place when we get back. I love spending time there.

Today's card was created for a couple that live at the lake permanently. They run, or I should say ran, the only bakery in town. It was an amazing bakery that had the best cinnamon buns ever. When we first went out to the lake this summer, we discovered that they had retired! I am very happy for them yet sad at the same time that we won't be able to get their delicious breads or treats.

I started with a card base of Old Olive. On top of that, I added a piece of Basic White cardstock that I embossed using the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder.

I used the Dragonfly Garden stamp set to make this card. I stamped the flower image on a strip of Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink so I could use my Stampin' Blends to colour in the flowers. I used Fresh Freesia, Old Olive, So Saffron, Pale Papaya and Balmy Blue to colour in the flowers and stems of my image.

I used the new Very Best Trio Punch to punch out the top corners of the piece of cardstock. I cut a piece of Old Olive to mat the flower piece and punched the top corners of it as well. I am so pleased with how it turned out. I tied a piece of Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon around this piece and tied it in a knot. I added this to my card front using dimensionals.

I stamped my sentiment using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a strip of Basic White cardstock. The sentiment is from the Happiness Abounds stamp set. I used my paper snips to fussy cut around the word. I attached the sentiment to the flower image using Tombo glue and a small piece of dimensionals where it attaches to the embossed cardstock.

To complete the card, I added a few pearls from the Pastel Pearls set.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card. I hope the retired couple likes it.

Stay well and keep creating!

Terry
