Mistletoe Magic

Hello friends! Well this blog post is late because I was away for the weekend and when I got home, my computer decided not to work. I went to Vancouver for a Stampin' Up! mini convention. It was so much fun!! I got to see some friends in person that I haven't seen in years and some that I have only met through Zoom. We also got to see the new mini catalogue and it is not going to disappoint! There were demonstrations on new items in the new catalogue as well.

I went down with my friend Susanne and we stayed in a hotel right down town that used to be the Vancouver stock exchange building. It's called the Exchange and you can check it out online. It was really fascinating but unfortunately, we were so busy we hardly had any time to spend in the hotel. We also went to an authentic Korean barbecue. There was a grill in the middle of our table and they cooked our dinner right there. I've never experienced anything like that before. I will share a couple of pictures at the end of this post. There are more pictures but I can't share them yet.....

Today's card is #10 in the Crafting at the Lakehouse series. It is another one of my creations and uses the Mistletoe Magic Bundle.

I started by stamping the mistletoe image onto a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolour paper using Black Staz On ink. I cut this out using the corresponding die from the bundle. I then used my Water Painters to colour in the image. I squished the ink pad to pick up some ink in the lid of the ink pad. I used the water painter to pick up the ink to colour the image. I used Old Olive for the stems and leaves and used Real Red for the berries.

I stamped my sentiment onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock using Real Red ink. I attached this piece to my Old Olive card base.

I attached my mistletoe piece to a piece of Vellum that I embossed using the Wintry 3D Embossing Folder. I then added the Vellum to my card front. I tied a bow using the Real Red ribbon from the Real Red & Garden Green Ribbon Combo pack. I attached my bow to the stem of the mistletoe using a glue dot.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card.

Stay well and keep creating!

Terry

Here is a picture of the Korean barbecue:

And a picture of me holding one of my prize patrol winnings. It looks like I'm not very thrilled but I honestly am. I am truly smiling under my mask! If you know me, you know how much I love ribbon and twine.
