Splendid Thoughts - Get Well

Hello friends! What a difference in our weather this week. It is above zero today and everything is melting. It's been ages since it was above zero. There is going to be a lot of flooding because all of the storm drains are full of snow and ice so the water has nowhere to go. It is nice to have the warmer weather but this could be bad.

This is a good time to spend in the craft room. I had to make a get well card for a team member. Unfortunately one of the gals on my team is sick so of course I will be sending her a card.

I decided to use the Splendid Thoughts Bundle. I started by stamping the larger leaf image on a piece of Basic White cardstock using Soft Sea Foam ink stamped off once. I repeatedly stamped the image all over the piece of cardstock. I then matted this piece onto a piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock and added this to a card base of Soft Sea Foam cardstock.

I cut out the half circle image from a piece of Gray Granite cardstock using the die from the bundle. I attached this to my card front using adhesive. I then cut out various leaf images using the dies from the bundle and different cardstocks. I used Vellum, Granny Apple Green, Soft Sea Foam, Gray Granite and Basic White cardstock for the leaf images. I added these leaf images and tucked them into the half circle. I also added a bow that I tied using the Soft Sea Foam Seam Binding Ribbon.

On another piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped my sentiment using Gray Granite ink. I then cut it out using a stitched banner from the Stylish Shapes Dies. I added the sentiment with dimensionals.

To complete the card, I added some Brass Butterflies.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card. I hope my team member enjoys it and feels better soon.

Stay well and keep creating!

Gift Boxes

Hello friends! I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas. Ours was great! We went up to Salmon Arm to visit my mother-in-law in the morning. She was very surprised that we came by as she wasn't expecting us. We didn't want to make any promises before Christmas with the conditions of the highways lately so it was wonderful that we were able to see her.

Then we went to my daughter and son-in-law's for Christmas dinner and presents for the little one. She was very excited about the new toys but didn't care too much about unwrapping presents. She is definitely a very loved and lucky little girl! I will share some pictures from our day once I get them from my daughter.

So for today's card, I know I promised no more Christmas cards but technically this is not a Christmas card. I had some friends over last week and one of my friends made everyone a cute little gift box like the one I will be sharing. It had mini candy canes and chocolate in it. I thought it was a great idea so I decided to make some for everyone at Christmas dinner. Unfortunately for me, I bought mini candy canes that were much bigger than the ones that my friend used so I had to do the math to create the gift boxes bigger rather than just duplicate the one that she made.

Here is the box I made:

I used Basic White Thick cardstock to create the box and the larger piece attached to the back. I added a piece of DSP from the Painted Christmas DSP pack that I matted with a piece of Real Red cardstock. This was added to the top of the backing panel. Before assembling the box, I used a die from the Stitched Rectangles Dies to cut a window out of the front of the box. One thing that my friend mentioned when she was making her boxes is that it was not so easy to get the window centered on the front panel. I purposely placed my window biased to the right side so this wouldn't be an issue.

I stamped my sentiment from the Framed & Festive stamp set on Basic White cardstock using Real Red ink. I cut it out using a stitched banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set. I used the next larger banner die to cut out a banner from some Real Red cardstock. I matted my sentiment on this banner and added this to the top of the gift box.

I used some small dies from the Mistletoe Dies set to cut out some mistletoe and berries. I used Garden Green cardstock for the mistletoe and Real Red for the berries. I added adhesive sheets to the cardstock so it would be easier to adhere to the box. I added my mistletoe to the front of the box, beside the window.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this gift box. I will definitely be making more of these. They were fun and easy (once I figured out the math) to make.

Stay well and keep creating!

Another Leaves of Holly Card

Hello friends! This is the last Christmas card of this year. I can't believe that the year is almost over and Christmas is going to be here in a couple of days. This will be our little granddaughter's first Christmas so it is going to be really exciting. The weather in BC has really been scary. It's been really cold and there has been so much snow. Everything has been affected. We even had a notice that there would be no mail delivery due to the cold. I believe it is supposed to warm up but of course that means more snow...

I used the Leaves of Holly Bundle again for this card but this time I used nontraditional Christmas colours.

I used a card base of Sahara Sand. On top of my card base I added another piece of Sahara Sand cardstock that I embossed using the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder.

I cut out the larger label from a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. I added this to my card front using dimensionals. I cut out the larger holly leaves from some more Very Vanilla cardstock. I used three on this card. I cut out the detailed holly leaves from some Brushed Metallic Cardstock. I used two gold leaves and one copper. I added these detailed leaves to the solid Very Vanilla leaves and attached them to the card front just under the large label.

On another piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped my sentiment using Versamark ink. I added some Gold Embossing Powder (from the Metallics Pack) and heated it to melt. Once cooled, I cut it out using the smaller label die. I added this to the larger label using dimensionals.

I cut out the pine bough image from a piece of Basic White cardstock and added it to the card front by the top gold holly leaf.

To complete my card, I added a bow that I tied using the Natural Woven Ribbon. I added the bow to the larger label using glue dots.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this final Christmas card of 2022.

Stay well and keep creating!

Leaves of Holly

Hello friends! I have just a couple more Christmas cards to share with you and then it's on to new stuff from the new mini catalogue. If you want a copy of the catalogue let me know and I will make sure you get one.

For today's card I used the Leaves of Holly Bundle. I started with a piece of Basic White cardstock. I stamped the larger holly leaf randomly all over the cardstock using Soft Succulent ink that I stamped off twice. I wanted the leaves to be pretty light. Then I added some splatter dots using my Crumb Cake Dark Stampin' Blend marker. I flicked the paint brush end against the inside edge of the lid to get the splatter look. I added this piece to a card base of Evening Evergreen.

On another piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the same holly leaf twice using Evening Evergreen ink. I then cut these out using the corresponding die from the bundle. I added these leaves to my card front using adhesive.

On another small piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the holly berries using Real Red ink. This  stamp is a two step stamp. I stamped the solid image first after stamping off once then I added the second part stamped full strength. I cut these out using the corresponding die. I also stamped the sentiment using Real Red ink on a strip of Basic White cardstock. The sentiment I used is from the Mistletoe Magic stamp set.

I added my sentiment piece over top of the holly leaves using dimensionals. On top of the sentiment piece I added a piece of Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon that I folded into a faux bow. I added the holly berries on top of the faux bow using a dimensional.

To complete my card, I added two pieces of pine bough that I cut out from some Crumb Cake cardstock. I added these under the sentiment piece in the top left corner using adhesive.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this card.

Stay well and keep creating!

Go To Greetings

 Hello friends!

Today's card is a thank you card for another amazing person at SLR. I'm not exactly sure what her position is but there were a few times during my session where I mentioned something in passing and this amazing gal had things fixed immediately. That is the kind of people you want in a volunteer based program.

I wanted to use the Go To Greetings stamp set for this card. I just recently got this stamp set and I don't know why I waited so long to get it. It is absolutely beautiful. It has four different sayings - Thank You, Happy Birthday, Thinking of You and Just a note in three different fonts. There is also a bonus stamp in the smaller font that says Hello. This is the font I chose for my card.

I started with a Basic White Thick card base. On top of that I added a piece of Polished Pink cardstock and on top of that I added a piece of Balmy Blue cardstock that I embossed using the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. On top of the embossed cardstock, I added a strip of DSP from the Fitting Florets DSP pack.

On another small piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped my sentiment using Black Staz On ink. I punched this out using the smaller oval on the Double Oval Punch. I matted this onto a larger scalloped oval that I punched out of a piece of Balmy Blue cardstock.

Before adding my sentiment piece to the card front, I added a swoosh of Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon to the back of my sentiment. I then added it to the card using dimensionals. That completes my card.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed this card.

Stay well and keep creating!
